On October 17, social media went viral with a touching handwritten letter from a 7th grade female student in Ha Tinh, sent to an uncle with the wish to support a classmate in especially difficult circumstances to continue going to school.
The letter reads as follows: “Hello, Uncle! I am Tran Bang Nhi, this year I am in grade 7, Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School, Vu Quang town, Ha Tinh. First of all, let me send you and your family good health and happiness!
Today I want to share the story of a classmate of mine and hope you can help me!
That friend is Pham Quang Hoai, my classmate. Last year, I came home and asked my mother: “Why do I see my friend is sad? Why does he cry sometimes?” My mother said: “Hoai has not lived with me since he was little, and his father is sick. He has been raised by his grandparents since he was little. You should help and encourage him.”
We have been friends for two years now, and our homeroom teacher has been helping us a lot in our studies. But uncle! Two months ago, his grandfather, who is over 70 years old, got cancer, and things have gotten even more difficult. When his father and grandmother can't do anything, I'm afraid the hope for him and his brother to continue going to school will gradually fade away without anyone's help.
I am very worried about Hoai. She needs not only mental but also physical help. If you can help, I believe that with your help, Hoai will feel more confident in her studies. I hope you will read my thoughts and I believe you will find a way to help Hoai! Thank you very much!"

The owner of the above letter is Tran Bang Nhi (living in Vu Quang town, 7th grade student, Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School). The letter was written by Nhi to his uncle Hoang Trong Thuy in Hue to ask for help for his friend Pham Quang Hoai to continue going to school.
Ms. Le Thi Thanh Hien (Nhi's mother) was quite surprised when her child's letter received attention and was shared by many people on social networks.
“Hoai is a classmate and neighbor of Bang Nhi, so they are close friends. Hoai’s family is in a difficult situation. His father has schizophrenia and his mother left when they were young. They live with their father and grandparents. Their grandfather is a war invalid and their grandmother is old and weak and cannot work, but she has to take care of Hoai and her three children,” Hien shared.

Regarding the letter, Ms. Hien said that when he was in 3rd grade, Bang Nhi wrote an article sharing about good books and was given a book by Mr. Hoang Trong Thuy in Hue.
Uncle Thuy often helps people in difficult situations, so Nhi wrote a letter asking for his help with Hoai's family's case.
The content of the letter was then posted by Mr. Thuy on his personal Facebook page and shared widely in recent days.
Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoa, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Vu Quang district, said that because Hoai's family is in difficult circumstances, during the 2023-2024 school year and the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, the local government and organizations in the district have supported and given gifts to encourage this male student and his brother, Pham Quang Dat.
"Because of his average academic performance, Hoai did not receive the required scholarships. In addition to the help from the local government and the school, we also hope that benefactors will help his family's situation," Mr. Hoa shared.
