According to data released by the General Department of Customs, Phu Tho continues to maintain its position as the 9th out of 63 localities with the largest contribution to exports in the first 7 months of 2024, with 8.1 billion USD. This shows a fairly good recovery of many businesses in the industrial sector in the first half of this year.

The Phu Ha Industrial Park in Phu Tho town has only 28 FDI enterprises but accounts for over 80% of the province's total export value.
With the recovery of the global market, export orders increased, leading to continued positive results in import and export activities in the first half of 2024. According to statistics, there are currently over 280 import and export businesses operating in Phu Tho province.
In the first seven months of the year, the total value of exports and imports of Phu Tho province reached 8.1 billion USD, ranking 3rd out of 14 provinces in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region, only after Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang. |
The Industrial Production Index (IIP) in Phu Tho province for the first seven months of the year recorded a 38.4% increase compared to the same period last year, mainly driven by the processing and manufacturing industry and the electricity production and distribution sector. Some key industrial products showing year-on-year increases include: Laptop computers (including notebooks and subnotebooks) estimated at 7.3 million units, 2.19 times higher than the same period; integrated electronic circuits estimated at 44.2 million units, a 28.7% increase; plastic products estimated at 80.1 thousand tons, a 5.3% increase; ready-made clothing estimated at 58.6 million products, a 4.3% increase;...

However, the main challenge for businesses now is keeping up with demand. Manufacturers will need to increase their workforce more quickly and continue to secure additional raw materials if the current trend of new orders is to be maintained in the coming months. To date, the number of workers employed in industrial enterprises in the province has increased by 0.7% compared to the previous month and by 8% compared to the same month last year.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hien Minh, Director of the Provincial Statistics Department: A survey of business trends among industrial enterprises in the province revealed that 86.86% of businesses predicted an increase or stability in production volume; 82.61% predicted an increase or stability in new orders; and only 13% expected a decrease in production volume in the last six months of the year.
Regarding the recovery of the business sector, economic experts believe that this recovery is also clearly reflected in the relatively high growth rates of both exports and imports. This shows that businesses not only have a good number of orders but also demonstrate a very positive level of import of raw materials and components for production.

In the first six months of the year, Almus Vina Co., Ltd., located in Phu Ha Industrial Park, Phu Tho Town, is estimated to have paid 19 billion VND in taxes.
Currently, many new and large projects in the area have been completed and are preparing to go into operation, such as: the paper production project of Mylan Paper Co., Ltd.; the plastic product manufacturing project of Lidong Vietnam Co., Ltd.; the electronic equipment manufacturing project of Innovation Tuong Lai Viet Co., Ltd.; Mekong MDF Wood Joint Stock Company; Mehomes Vietnam Real Estate Consulting and Investment Joint Stock Company... These projects will create momentum for high growth in the industrial production sector in the coming months.
Comrade Phan Trong Tan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated: In the coming time, the province will continue to strengthen its monitoring of business operations; support manufacturing enterprises in accessing credit, markets, investment procedures, and land. At the same time, it will promptly implement preferential credit policies, reduce taxes, fees, and charges, and enhance access to credit for people and businesses. In particular, the province will promote support for technological innovation, digital transformation, participation in industry clusters and value chains, and access to new markets and export markets to expand opportunities for businesses.
Thus, the policies aimed at removing obstacles to production and business and connecting markets are proving effective, providing significant support for the year's production, business, and import-export momentum. This continues to help Phu Tho maintain its position among the top 10 leading provinces in terms of export turnover nationwide.
