"My family worked hard to raise four children, so we didn't have enough money to build a big house. When the children grew up, my husband and I were able to save a little, and the rest was thanks to the money our children sent home from working in Japan to build this spacious house," Ms. Phuc shared.

According to Mrs. Phuc, more than 10 years ago, Huynh Quoc Anh (39 years old, the eldest son of the couple) was among the first young people in the locality to go to Japan to work. The youngest son, Huynh Quoc Thien (26 years old), finished 12th grade and then did 2 years of military service, then followed his brother to Japan and has been working for 5 years now.

"Before the Covid-19 pandemic, there were months when my children sent my husband and I 35 million VND, now it's normally about 20 million VND/month. To go abroad to work, my children borrowed policy capital. If they worked in the countryside, they don't know when they would have saved up a few hundred million VND. My husband and I stay home and make rice mills to serve the people, and work on 5 more fields, which is enough to live on. With the money our children send back, my husband and I have saved up to buy a small house in Ho Chi Minh City for our grandchild, which is currently being rented out," Mrs. Phuc said excitedly.

Also thanks to accessing capital through the Transaction Office of the Social Policy Bank of Hoai An district, Ms. Le Thi Bich Hanh (45 years old, An Chieu village, An Phong commune) borrowed 70 million VND for her son Vo Van Luan (24 years old) to go to work in Korea from 2021 to present.

"Every month, my child sends home 30 million VND, thanks to which he has money to invest in business and renovate the house. Because he works hard, the company gives him priority this 12th lunar month to visit his hometown for 1 month, covers the airfare and gives him a bonus of 1 month's salary," Ms. Hanh happily said.

According to Ms. Hanh, in addition to her son, her son-in-law is also working in Korea. Meanwhile, her daughter Vo Thi Thuy Linh (19 years old) is preparing to go to Korea to study. All thanks to the money her brother sent back.

According to Vice Chairman of Hoai An District People's Committee Tran Van Thom, in recent years, the locality has always been considered a bright spot because it has the highest number of labor export workers in Binh Dinh province.

Determining that labor export is also one of the important solutions to solve employment, shift economic structure, and sustainably reduce poverty, the district focuses on promoting solutions to effectively implement the work of sending workers to work abroad under contracts, creating all favorable conditions for workers to access this program.

"The locality regularly coordinates with units to organize job fairs, creating conditions for workers to access recruiting companies and businesses. Especially exporting labor to stable, high-income markets such as Korea and Japan," said Mr. Thom.
