The 2025 Spring Volunteer Campaign in Ho Chi Minh City officially launched on December 22 with about 3,000 volunteers present at the launching ceremony.

Closing the Year of Youth Volunteers 2024
Ms. Thu Ha said that Spring Volunteering can be considered an activity that marks the completion of the journey of the 2024 Youth Volunteer Year. At the same time, it is a volunteer activity that opens the year 2025 with the theme "Ho Chi Minh City Youth is proud to firmly believe in the Party", which is also a year with many important events and milestones for the Party, the country, Ho Chi Minh City and students nationwide.
"It's impressive that after nearly a month of preparation, in 10 days of implementation, nearly 70,000 young people, students and pupils registered, double the number of last year's campaign," said Ms. Thu Ha.
This year, Spring Volunteering takes place for five weeks, from December 22, 2024 to January 28, 2025 (ie December 29 of the lunar calendar). "Covering" all districts and Thu Duc City, the activities are aimed at hospitals, nursing homes, shelters, open houses, specialized schools, and social facilities. There are also student dormitories, accommodation areas, worker dormitories, train stations, bus stations, markets, densely populated areas, and drug rehabilitation facilities.
You will visit Thanh An island commune (Can Gio district) and some border areas, sea, islands, border checkpoints on the river (HCMC Border Guard). In addition, there is a volunteer team to support people to have the best experience when traveling on the newly put into operation metro line No. 1.
"The Spring Volunteer Soldiers' Footprints will be present in many places, hoping to bring a warm spring, the atmosphere of Vietnamese Tet and spread the beauty of Vietnamese Tet to the community and society," said Ms. Thu Ha.
Nguyen Thi Hai (a final-year student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education) shared that she participated in the Spring Volunteer Campaign for the second time with the determination to "have to participate at all costs" despite her heavy final-year schedule. "I understand the meaning of the campaign, so I try to participate even though I'm busy. This is my way to add more highlights to my student life, connect with new friends, and mark my beautiful youth," Hai shared.
Learn to share from every activity
The four key programs of the Volunteer Spring include Spring of Pride, Spring of Sharing, Spring of Soldiers and Civilized Tet, along with three peak days of activities: Spring of History, Spring of Pride and Spring of Love.
The campaign also set a number of targets such as supporting free medical examination and medicine for 3,000 people; giving Tet gifts to 2,000 children and patients; giving 10,000 banh chung and banh tet; planting at least 2,000 new trees...
Along with that, the campaign is an opportunity to promote historical values and patriotism to young people. Thereby promoting the spirit of volunteering for the community so that the campaign is truly an environment to help young people practice their personality, capacity, social practice skills and international integration.
This is also an opportunity to connect the community, international students, young artists to join the campaign to carry out beautiful actions, share civilized lifestyles. At the same time, together take care of difficult cases, those with special circumstances during the upcoming Lunar New Year At Ty.
Soldier Huynh Kim Trung (student of Ly Tu Trong College) said that this was his first year participating and he was quite surprised by the exciting atmosphere of the launch day. "I want to contribute a little bit of my youth with other friends to create a meaningful and loving Tet season," Kim Trung shared the reason for becoming a volunteer Spring soldier this year.
Three days of peak activity
Right after the launching ceremony, the participants of the historic Spring peak activity day visited the heroic Vietnamese Mother, the Mother of the student movement, exchanged at the Quang Trung Night - Historical milestone, and the journey "Youth following in the footsteps of history".
In addition, the youth alley route was launched, and the following teams were launched: Health Records of Parents of the Student Movement and Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, Green Saigon - For a green environment in District 10.
The campaign has two other peak days of activities. The peak day of Spring Pride (January 9, 2025) is associated with the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Students and the Vietnam Student Association (January 9) and the peak day of Spring Love (January 19, 2025) is associated with social security activities.
Open-minded, dedicated and harmonious
Siliphong Channapha - a Laotian, a first-year international student at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine - said he had just arrived in Ho Chi Minh City not long ago and only knew that Spring Volunteering was a volunteer activity for young people and students in Ho Chi Minh City during Tet. However, Siliphong Channapha wanted to become a Spring Volunteer because he saw this as an opportunity to expand relationships, make new friends, learn about culture, especially the beauty of the traditional Vietnamese Tet.
Siliphong Channapha boasted that he had been helped by many people and friends at school whenever he encountered difficulties, from finding his way to learning Vietnamese, which helped him feel the spirit of sharing and affection of the people of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the Vietnamese people in general. "Those things urged me to register for this year's Spring Volunteer Program. I have received so much and this is an opportunity for me to open my heart to share and contribute to harmony," Siliphong Channapha said.
