On February 3, the Inspector of the Can Tho City Department of Health announced that it had issued a decision to impose an administrative fine and revoke the operating license of the Can Tho General Clinic.

Previously, based on feedback from local residents, the Can Tho Department of Health inspection team suddenly inspected Can Tho General Clinic (No. 133A Tran Hung Dao, Thoi Binh Ward, Ninh Kieu District) and discovered many violations in medical examination and treatment activities.
Specifically, Can Tho General Clinic, managed by Mr. Ngo Van My, violated the regulations by providing medical examination and treatment services beyond the permitted scope and failing to fully implement infection control measures at the medical examination and treatment facility.
For this violation, the administrative fine is 135 million VND; the additional penalty is the revocation of the medical examination and treatment license for 3 months (from the date of receipt of the decision).
In addition, the Inspectorate of the Can Tho City Department of Health also imposed an administrative fine of VND8 million on individuals at the Can Tho General Clinic for violating the practice registration at multiple facilities at the same time or working outside the registered time.
Can Tho General Clinic was fined 23 million VND for not having a warehouse to store drugs, selling expired drugs or drugs that had been recalled.
In the fields of surgery and obstetrics, the clinic violated technical regulations and was fined 15 million VND for each field, had its practice certificate revoked, and had its operations suspended for 2 months.
The total administrative fine for the Can Tho General Clinic is 196 million VND for violations in medical examination and treatment at the facility.
At the same time, the additional penalty of revoking the right to use the medical examination and treatment license of Can Tho General Clinic for a period of 3 months. The right to use the practice license of individuals involved in related violations will be revoked for a period of 2 months.
According to the Can Tho City Department of Health, in recent times, the inspection force has regularly carried out inspections and checks to review and rectify medical examination and treatment activities and practitioners at medical examination and treatment facilities according to the provisions of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment.
