A beauty company's TikTok account was fined for posting false content

On October 17, Ha Dong District Police (Hanoi) announced that they had decided to fine a cosmetic company for posting false information about police officers getting tattoos.

Previously, Ha Dong District Police discovered a TikTok account of a local cosmetic company posting a clip “Policeman with tattoos.” The post attracted thousands of likes and comments.

Through verification, this information is not true, affecting the image and reputation of the police force.

Ha Dong District Police worked with the company to verify and clarify the incident. During the investigation, the company representative admitted that due to lack of knowledge, they posted false content on social media to attract interactions for the TikTok channel.

Ha Dong District Police have issued a decision to fine the company for the act of "Providing and sharing fake information, false information, distorting, slandering, and insulting the reputation of agencies, organizations, honor and dignity of individuals" according to the provisions of Point a, Clause 1, Article 101 of Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP, dated February 3, 2020 of the Government.

The fine for this act is 15 million VND.
