A leader of the Dak Lak Department of Health said that spas and beauty salons are springing up like mushrooms due to the increasing demand for beauty among women.
Many establishments have opened without permission and advertised on billboards or on social networks indiscriminately. Since 2022, the Dak Lak Department of Health Inspectorate has conducted 24 inspections and issued 7 decisions to impose fines of VND 171.5 million on beauty salons operating illegally and advertising illegally.
Among these, Mega KangJin Beauty Salon at 7 Tran Nhat Duat, Buon Ma Thuot City, owned by Ms. Pham Hoang Thai Quyen (from Binh Duong), was fined 25 million VND for performing procedures using drugs and equipment on the body without a license. The facility was suspended for 4.5 months to correct the violations.
However, recently, Mega KangJin Buon Ma Thuot Beauty Salon was complained by KangJin Vietnam Joint Stock Company (HCMC) to the authorities of Dak Lak province for trademark infringement and carrying out many activities beyond the license.
Accordingly, Mega KangJin's license only allows for tattooing on the skin, without using injectable anesthetics, but this facility advertises that it performs cosmetic surgeries such as autologous hair transplants, face lifts, etc.

On the morning of June 15, when the reporter returned to this address, Mega KangJin had changed its name to Sohee Beauty Salon. Mr. Pham Tien Hung said that he had received the application from KangJin Vietnam Joint Stock Company and would check whether the facility had changed its signboard and whether its cosmetic operations were in accordance with its license.
According to Mr. Hung, the city will soon conduct a comprehensive inspection of spas and beauty salons that show signs of hiding behind a facade or falsely advertising online or on billboards.
Many establishments do not even have a license but still perform cosmetic procedures, which are very dangerous. "This is an act of disregard for health and the law that needs to be stopped," Mr. Hung said.
