According to the report of the National Steering Committee 389, in the first quarter of 2025, the prices of some domestic goods such as gasoline, gold increased and decreased erratically, but in general, the country's economy continued to recover and develop positively. The volume of exported and imported goods, passengers, means of transport exiting, entering, and transiting through border gates continued to increase; the supply of food, foodstuffs, and essential goods serving people's lives was diverse and stable. In the first quarter of 2025, units and localities arrested and handled 30,651 violations; of which 6,754 cases of trading and transporting prohibited and smuggled goods, 22,774 cases of trade fraud, tax fraud, 1,113 cases of counterfeit goods, and intellectual property violations were detected and arrested; collected more than 4,616 billion VND for the state budget, prosecuted 1,328 criminal cases, 2,046 subjects.

In Phu Yen, the authorities have inspected 150 cases; of which 137 were administratively handled (violations of buying, selling, transporting smuggled goods, commercial fraud, tax fraud, etc.), 13 were criminally prosecuted with 30 defendants (for storing, buying, selling, organizing illegal use of narcotics, trading in prohibited goods such as firecrackers); the total amount of administrative fines paid to the budget was nearly 3.9 billion VND.

In the coming time, Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches and localities will closely follow the key directions and tasks in combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2025 of the National Steering Committee 389, to develop programs, plans and solutions for combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in accordance with the practical situation of localities and units. Units will promote information and propaganda, focus on training, improve professional qualifications and skills for market management forces; commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements to encourage and motivate spirit, spread good examples and good deeds in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
