In episode 126, the program Vietnamese Family Home was recorded in a new format, all 3 children participating in the program had the opportunity to draw a logo board, which made Duong Hong Phuc, Ngo Kien Huy, Tu Hao and many viewers excited.
In episode 126 of the program Vietnamese Family Home , MC Duong Hong Phuc and two guests, singer Ngo Kien Huy and model Tu Hao, could not hide their emotions when witnessing the situation of Tho Ky (2011), a Cho Ro ethnic group.
Turkey’s mother died of colon cancer four months after giving birth to her youngest child. Since then, her father has been a single parent, taking care of his three children. The four of them depend on each other to live in a small rented house in Long Khanh, Dong Nai, with a monthly rent of 1.2 million VND.
Ky's father, Tho Hung (born 1988), earns his living as a bricklayer or as a helper at a restaurant. Because his wife died early and his children are still very young, Hung has to work and take care of them at the same time, and cannot go to work regularly, so his income is unstable. On days when he doesn't go to work, Hung goes fishing to earn extra food for his children.
The two younger sisters, Tho Thi My Anh (2013) and Tho Moc Thien Y (2019), are both of school age. Sympathizing with Ky's situation, teachers often donate tuition for the three siblings. Many times, Hung has no job, the four of them do not even have rice to eat, and have to go to the commune committee to ask for it.
Every day before going to class, the Ky brothers eat cold rice to ease their hunger. The audience felt sorry when listening to Ky's dream of having a stable job so that he could give the three brothers 10,000 VND each day to buy breakfast like their friends. This wish seems simple to many people, but it is a luxury for the three brothers.
Turkey said that his brothers cried their eyes out whenever they were sad and missed their mother. Ky himself often hid in a corner to cry so that no one could see. In front of his father, he always appeared happy so that his father could work with peace of mind. Looking back at the three children, Hung always told himself that he was not allowed to give up, always trying to earn money to take good care of the children, to make his wife feel at ease.
MC Duong Hong Phuc choked up when he remembered the dream of having 10,000 VND to have breakfast before going to class of the Turkish brothers. He felt sorry when he saw that the children lacked their mother's love, often went hungry, and were smaller than their friends. Among them, the eldest boy, Turkish, was 13 years old but was short and smaller than his younger sister.
As for Tu Hao, she was moved to see that the youngest sister of Turkey was still so young, her mother died when she was only 4 months old, so she had no memories of her mother. The image of the little girl constantly looking at her mother's portrait and wishing to dream of her mother, being loved and cared for by her mother made the female model unable to hold back her tears. Singer Ngo Kien Huy continuously comforted and encouraged Turkey and her sister to try to be strong. The male singer also admired Hung, who was both a father and a mother taking care of 3 young children. He hoped that Hung would stay healthy to see his children grow up, and at the same time be a solid support for them to continue living well. Ngo Kien Huy promised to do his best with Tu Hao in the challenges of the program.
Entering the sub-competition, Ngo Kien Huy and Tu Hao were asked to perform the challenge within 3 minutes, but the singer of "Truyen Thai Y" asked for 3 hours, making everyone confused. Not stopping there, when he was discovered "cheating" to gain priority for all 3 families, Ngo Kien Huy begged the crew to let it go. He said: "Cut that scene out for me, I'll buy you coffee later. Cut this scene out too, I'll buy you ribs ." In another sub-competition, Ngo Kien Huy also left Duong Hong Phuc helpless when he timed himself and performed the challenge without waiting for the MC's command. Backstage, Ngo Kien Huy said he was only performing a skit to make the audience laugh and did not intentionally break the rules.
In the main competition, Ngo Kien Huy did not dare to “play” any more skits because he wanted to be fair to all three families. He and Tu Hao worked together with the children to overcome the challenge of bringing the water balloons to the finish line. With the support of the two guests, the children quickly completed their task.
After the rounds, the family of Türkiye who came in third and Tran Thanh Truc who came in second will receive prizes according to the new format of the program. Accordingly, Tran Thanh Truc will choose to draw 2 logo boards or receive 20 million VND. Similarly, the family of Turkey who came in third also has two options: draw 1 logo board or receive 15 million VND.
Giving the second and third place families the option to win more prizes is also a way for the children to feel a sense of victory, as a recognition of their efforts in overcoming the challenges of the program.
After thinking, Thanh Truc's family decided to withdraw the board and receive 23 million VND. Turkey's family also decided to withdraw the logo board and receive 18 million VND. The moment of withdrawing the board also created a feeling of suspense, then bursting with happiness when the amount received was higher than the initial fixed number.
Le Ngoc Tam Binh, who came in first, continued to join the guests in the final challenge and won the chance to draw 2 special logo boards, bringing home 60 million VND. The image of all 3 families participating in Vietnamese Family Home drawing boards one by one delighted many viewers.
An audience member who came early to watch the show said that he was very supportive of the change in format this time. “I was as nervous as if I were a member of the children’s family, feeling like I was being drawn into the drawing rounds. And then seeing the families all draw higher amounts of money, I was also happy when I saw the children happy with the boards in their hands. I felt that the children were happier, not sad because they didn’t come in first, and couldn’t draw any more boards ,” the audience member shared.
In addition, MC Duong Hong Phuc, singer Ngo Kien Huy and model Tu Hao decided to donate their entire salaries to all three families. Ngo Kien Huy also took care of the three characters until they finished 12th grade, and Tu Hao used her own money to give each family an additional 3 million VND.
In addition, many benefactors and local people have joined hands to raise more than 118 million VND to send to the children. Thus, in episode 126, the program Vietnamese Family Home has awarded nearly 220 million VND to 3 difficult circumstances. Of which, the total prize from Hoa Sen Group is 101 million VND, along with many meaningful gifts.
The program Vietnamese Family Warmth airs at 8:20 p.m. every Friday on HTV7. The program is produced by Bee Media Company in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Television, with the support of Hoa Sen Home Construction Materials & Interior Supermarket System (Hoa Sen Group) and Hoa Sen Plastic Pipe - Source of Happiness.
