Recently, on social media, a picture of a homemade car carrying 3 students to school in the middle of the scorching heat of the Central region appeared. The picture attracted public attention.
Besides sympathizing with the hardships of parents taking their children to school in harsh weather, there are also opinions that using this means of transport to transport students to school poses many potential safety risks.
The grandfather's homemade car took his grandson to school in the hot sun.
The owner of the homemade vehicle is Mr. HDT (residing in Bac Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province). From his motorbike, Mr. T. created an additional box in the back to transport 3 children to school.
Speaking with VietNamNet , Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh, Principal of Bac Thanh Primary School, confirmed that the homemade vehicle was used by parents to pick up and drop off students studying at the school.
"Mr. T. is a retired soldier, his wife is a retired teacher. In front is a motorbike, but in the back he added a box for his 3 children (1 preschooler and 2 elementary school students) to sit. Normally, he takes his children to school and then parks his motorbike outside the school gate," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh.
The leader of the Department of Education and Training of Yen Thanh district added: "We have investigated the incident. This school year is almost over, next year we absolutely urge parents not to transport their children like that to ensure safety."
Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Thanh commune, said that after discovering the incident, the local government had propagated and encouraged Mr. T. not to use this vehicle to take his children to school, to ensure traffic safety.
