According to the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions , according to local reports, by April 11, 2025, 195,068 temporary and dilapidated houses had been cleared nationwide. Of these, 93,370 houses had been completed and 101,698 new houses had been started.
Housing support data for three target groups are as follows: Support 20,444 houses for people with revolutionary contributions; support 62,116 houses under 2 national target programs; support 112,508 houses under the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.
Three more localities have decided to strengthen the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses: Tay Ninh, Tuyen Quang, and Lang Son .
The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions also informed about some outstanding activities to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses during the week.
During a working trip to the Southwest, on the occasion of the Khmer people's Chol Chnam Thmay New Year 2025, the delegation of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions led by Minister Dao Ngoc Dung attended the inauguration and handover of houses under the program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" to poor ethnic minority households in Tra Vinh province and Can Tho city. At the same time, the delegation also presented 2 houses to households with revolutionary contributions in Tra Vinh province.
The Ministry of Public Security has awarded 131 billion VND to support Cao Bang province in removing temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. Thus, to date, this agency has completed transferring support funds to 2 provinces (Gia Lai, Cao Bang) as assigned by the Central Steering Committee.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Security mobilized at least 200 billion VND more to support other localities in the Central Highlands, Northwest, and Southwest regions.
Ha Tinh province has started to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for 100% of poor and near-poor households according to plan, with a number of more than 1,400 houses. To date, nearly 400 houses have been completed and put into use. The provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses has decided to assign 10 units to take the lead in sponsoring the implementation of the Temporary and Dilapidated House Elimination Program in 10 districts.
Some localities have reviewed and decided to adjust the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Specifically, Khanh Hoa approved the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses after the review of 1,326 units. Ha Tinh approved the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses after the review of 1,410 units. Lai Chau approved the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses after the review of 3,699 units.
In addition, many localities are also speeding up the progress to complete the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses ahead of schedule. For example, Can Tho strives to complete before April 25, 2025, Vinh Long strives to complete before May 10, 2025.
