In its statement, Xiaomi said it has grown from 100 to an impressive 1.175 billion users, with its product portfolio now spanning over 200 categories. The company acknowledged that in the IoT era, it faces challenges in addressing the complexity arising from a multitude of device operating systems and interoperability challenges across different ecosystems.

HyperOS was developed by Xiaomi to support the company's smart ecosystem.

This led to the birth of Xiaomi HyperOS. In development since 2017, HyperOS is designed to unify all devices in the ecosystem into one integrated system for maximum performance, consistent user experience, and seamless connectivity.

Xiaomi HyperOS is built on Linux and Xiaomi's self-developed Xiaomi Vela system, allowing it to work efficiently with a wide range of devices, regardless of RAM size (from 64 KB to 24 GB). HyperOS is lightweight (the smartphone's system firmware only takes up 8.75 GB) and uses minimal resources compared to its competitors, thus providing optimal performance. The operating system excels at task scheduling and resource management, ensuring stable performance even in resource-intensive scenarios. Technical modules, such as the file system and memory management, are optimized to exploit different hardware capabilities.

With an advanced multi-device Smart Connect framework at its core, HyperConnect revolutionizes connectivity, allowing users to control all connected devices from anywhere. It enables switching camera sources during video calls, accessing cameras from multiple devices, and seamless data transfer between devices.

Meanwhile, HyperMind is the AI hub that makes devices proactive. It learns users' needs and adapts devices accordingly, allowing them to enjoy intelligent automation without having to understand complex logic.

HyperOS also integrates large platform models to enhance system applications. The platform supports features such as voice generation, image search, and AI art creation. Third-party applications can also benefit from this AI system.

Prioritizing user security, Xiaomi's self-developed TEE operating system serves as the foundation for the company's security subsystem. Dedicated hardware TEEs protect sensitive information and extend this security to connected devices. HyperOS uses end-to-end encryption through TEEs to transmit data between devices.

To foster the open source ecosystem, HyperOS has simplified IoT development with Xiaomi Vela - an IoT software platform specifically designed for consumer IoT products. Xiaomi Vela is driving IoT device innovation, improving performance and supporting real-time connectivity across a wide range of devices.

Xiaomi HyperOS is a human-centric operating system designed and fine-tuned to connect personal devices, cars, and smart home products in a smart ecosystem.

The newly launched Xiaomi 14 series will come pre-installed with Xiaomi HyperOS, alongside devices launched in Xiaomi's domestic market such as Xiaomi Watch S3, Xiaomi TV S Pro 85 inch miniLED...
