As scheduled, Jennie and the Gentle Monster brand continue to create a "fever" with the Jentle Salon eyewear collection.
After being promoted by a host of global celebrities with a giant gift box containing the latest eyewear designs and a stuffed unicorn, the collection is on the dream list of many fashion lovers.
It's not an exaggeration to say that Jennie is truly a "guarantee" for the products or brands she represents.
Although the new collection officially opened for sale at stores and the official website at 11am on May 1 (Korean time), many young people lined up in front of the Gentle Monster store in Seoul (Korea) since midnight hoping to buy their favorite glasses.
The line of people waiting since last night was quite long. They planned to spend the night outside the store so they could get in first thing tomorrow morning.
The Jentle Salon collection is inspired by Jennie’s favorite things like clouds, capybara, and unicorns. There are 8 eyewear designs and 11 charms (glasses accessories) released this time. The prices of these glasses range from 295-380 USD (7.4-9.6 million VND).
In addition, to promote the collection, Gentle Monster also opened exhibition events in 13 locations in many different cities around the world such as Seoul (Korea), Bangkok (Thailand), Shanghai (China), Tokyo (Japan), New York (USA)...
This is not the first time Jennie has "caused a stir" when collaborating with fashion brands.
Previously, the female idol collaborated with Gentle Monster to launch two other eyewear collections, Jentle Home in 2020 and Jentle Garden in 2022. Both collections "sold out" within a few minutes of going on sale, and also caused the website to crash due to being overloaded with visitors.
Some of the most popular designs in the collection are even resold at prices many times higher than their retail price.
Besides the collections that Jennie directly participated in, the Korean beauty was once the reason why the black adidas Samba shoe became a rare item.
In September 2022, many people were seen setting up hammocks in front of the adidas store in Myeongdong (Seoul, Korea) hoping for a chance to buy the same shoe model Jennie wore.
At that time, it was very difficult to own this pair of shoes. In fact, from a shoe model priced at 1.6 million VND, it was being sold for up to 10 million VND.
