According to information from the Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security, at 5:30 p.m. on January 24, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 7 was on duty to ensure traffic order and safety on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway, serving the travel needs of people during the Lunar New Year.
At this time, the working group received information needing help from the relatives of Vo Hoai L. (3 years old). The child had a fever and convulsions and was on the way from Vinh Long to a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for emergency treatment.
Determining that the road was crowded, moving the child would take a long time and risk his life, so Highway Traffic Police Team No. 7 immediately assigned a traffic police team to use a car to clear the way.
The task force, including Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Van Dien, Major Hoang Van Quy, Senior Lieutenant Le Nhut Linh and two mobile police officers, quickly used special motorbikes and patrol cars to clear the way and lead the vehicle carrying the child to Children's Hospital 2, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
