Motorbike going in the wrong direction crashes into car's mirror and breaks it on My Thuan - Can Tho highway

On the morning of January 9, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, a representative of Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7 (Department 8, Traffic Police Department) said they were verifying information about a man driving a motorbike in the wrong direction on My Thuan - Can Tho highway, hitting a car, causing the car's rearview mirror to break.

Previously, a Facebook account named D.TK posted a nearly 30-second clip to a driver's group about a motorbike going in the opposite direction on the My Thuan - Can Tho highway hitting and breaking the rearview mirror.

Mr. K., the person who posted the clip, said the incident happened around 6:00 p.m. on January 1. At that time, his car was traveling at the allowed speed on the highway, near the intersection of Provincial Road 908, when he suddenly encountered a motorbike going in the opposite direction in the outermost lane.

At this time, the motorcyclist quickly turned the wheel to the inside curb, but the collision still broke the rearview mirror of the motorbike, and the motorbike sped away.

After the incident, Mr. K. said he had to take the car to be repaired for a total of 9 million VND but was covered by insurance.

"I shared the clip on social media to remind drivers to be careful of unexpected situations when driving and also to condemn the behavior of the motorcyclist who did not comply with traffic safety. The collision fortunately only damaged the vehicle, if the driver had not swerved in time, it would have been much more serious," said Mr. K.

According to a representative of Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7, My Thuan - Can Tho Highway has not yet installed surveillance cameras.

Previously, also on this highway, a clip over one minute long appeared on social media recording a man driving a Mercedes at 210 km/h.
