During the peak travel season during the Lunar New Year, passenger buses in Ho Chi Minh City increased ticket prices by 40-60% compared to normal days to compensate for empty trips.
During the peak of the 2025 Lunar New Year, from January 19 to February 7, 2025 (ie December 20 to January 10 of the lunar calendar), the new Eastern Bus Station (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) is expected to have more than 140,000 passengers. Compared to the same period last year, the number of passengers increased slightly.

Transport companies are allowed to adjust Tet ticket prices but not more than 40-60% compared to normal days to compensate for empty trips. This increase will be applied according to the route and time, and transport companies must post specific information for the station to control.
