Sleeper bus carrying 45 passengers plunges into abyss in Dak Nong

On July 1, Mr. Tran Nam Thuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Glong district, Dak Nong province, said that he had directed the police force and local authorities to focus on supporting the injured victims in the passenger bus crash (at Cui Cho pass on National Highway 28, in village 2, Quang Khe commune, Dak Glong district).

According to initial information, at around 1:00 p.m. on July 1, a 45-seat sleeper bus with license plate 61-029.XX, driven by driver NMH (50 years old), was traveling on National Highway 28 from Lam Dong province to Dak Nong province.

When going through a sharp curve on Cui Cho Pass, the car plunged into the abyss (on the right side in the direction of traffic).

At the time of the accident, there were 45 passengers, the driver, and the bus attendant on board. The accident injured a number of passengers, but fortunately there were no fatalities or critical cases.

According to Mr. Tran Nam Thuan, the Dak Glong District People's Committee has directed functional forces and local authorities to deploy human and material resources to serve the rescue work and treat the injured victims in the accident. Some injured passengers are being treated at Dak Nong Provincial General Hospital.

The incident is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
