Because he competed in the individual time trial, Mr. Nam arrived in Thailand early while the remaining group of 8 amateur athletes competed later. From Hanoi, this racer flew to Bangkok, joined the Vietnamese cycling team from Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and then traveled together to the competition venue. His racing bike and equipment traveled in the same truck with the Vietnamese team's equipment, so they were also burned.
Thanks to the active support from the host Thailand, cyclist Hoang Hai Nam was lent a bike, helmet, water bottle, and specialized racing shoes, but the host Thailand lent him a suitable pair 1 hour before the race. Just when he was relieved to have all the necessary equipment to compete, this cyclist encountered an incident when the number given to him by the organizers to race was different from the number on the starting list. "I had to explain back and forth to the referee about this mistake of the organizers, even though the referee had stopped the time but I still hadn't started the race. In addition, 3 minutes before the race, I found out that the route had changed from 21.4 km to 10.7 km, so I had to immediately calculate and change the racing strategy," said this cyclist.

On the competition day yesterday, February 9, Pham Le Xuan Loc competed in the men's individual time trial (U.23 age group) of the Asian Championship with a distance of 32.1 km. The racer of Military Zone 7 finished the race with a time of 43 minutes and 43 seconds, ranking 19/21. In this event, cyclist Almutaiwei (UAE) won the gold medal, Royan (Indonesia) won the silver medal, Kawada (Japan) won the bronze medal.
