On the afternoon of January 29, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Dak Lak Province Police is coordinating with functional forces to investigate the cause of the gasoline tanker fire on National Highway 26 (through M'Drak district).

According to initial information, at 11:15 am this morning, a gasoline truck with license plate number 79KT - 000.XX driven by driver Vuong Dinh Dien (33 years old, residing in Nha Trang City) transported 11,600 liters of gasoline from Cam Ranh port (Khanh Hoa province) to Dak Lak province.

While going up M'Drak pass, the tanker truck suddenly had a tire explosion, overturned in the middle of the road and caught fire fiercely.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Dak Lak Province Police quickly dispatched 2 fire trucks and 12 officers and soldiers to the scene, coordinating with 20 officers and soldiers of M'Drak District Police to organize fire fighting.

At the scene, the fire broke out strongly, black smoke billowed high with many loud explosions. In addition, a large amount of gasoline spilled out, flowing along the road, spreading to the surrounding vegetation.

Firefighters quickly sprayed foam to extinguish the fire, cool it down and prevent it from spreading. By about 12:50, the fire was completely extinguished.

Authorities are currently assessing property damage and investigating the cause of the fire.
