On the morning of April 18, Long An provincial authorities held a groundbreaking ceremony to build a memorial site, a memorial house for Mr. Vo Van Tan and Mr. Vo Van Ngan, and to restore and embellish the historical site of Duc Hoa crossroads area, Duc Hoa district.

Attending were formerPresident Truong Tan Sang and leaders of central and local departments and branches.

Mr. Vo Van Tan (1891-1941) and Mr. Vo Van Ngan (1902-1938) were brothers from Binh Thuy village, Duc Hoa village, Duc Hoa district, Cho Lon province (now Long An province). On March 6, 1930, Mr. Vo Van Tan organized the first Communist Party of Vietnam cell of Cho Lon province in Duc Hoa.

Just one year after becoming a party member, Mr. Vo Van Ngan was assigned the task of Gia Dinh Provincial Party Secretary (1931 - 1932), then Cho Lon Provincial Party Secretary (1932 - 1935).

In 1935, Mr. Vo Van Ngan was elected to the Central Executive Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party. As Secretary of the Southern Regional Party Committee (1935 - 1937), he led the activities of restoring the regional committee, establishing many grassroots Party organizations that reached districts and villages, developing many diverse and flexible forms of democratic struggle...

He was also the one who carefully prepared the location of the Party Central Committee in the area of ​​18 Vuon Trau villages, ensuring that the Central Committee Conference (enlarged) in March 1937 and the Central Committee Conference in September 1937 took place safely and smoothly.

During his time in office, Mr. Vo Van Tan also held the position of Secretary of the Cho Lon Provincial Party Committee in mid-1931 and replaced Mr. Vo Van Ngan as Secretary of the Gia Dinh Provincial Party Committee in 1932. In 1938, due to Mr. Vo Van Ngan's serious illness, Mr. Vo Van Tan held the position of Secretary of the Southern Regional Party Committee.

The national historical site of Duc Hoa Crossroads is the site of the largest anti-French demonstration in the South at that time, with 5,000 revolutionaries attacking the Duc Hoa district palace on June 4, 1930.

The relic site has been ranked as a national historical relic since 1989, with the Duc Hoa district residence, the nearly 100-year-old bunker system being restored and renovated, along with the statue system of Mr. Vo Van Tan, the execution platform...

The memorial house project of Vo Van Tan and Vo Van Ngan was approved by the People's Committee of Long An province with a total investment of more than 112 billion VND from the central budget, provincial budget and other mobilized capital.

The project is carried out with many items such as building a memorial house, building Vo Van Ngan's tomb, exhibition house, restoring and embellishing the historical relic of Duc Hoa crossroads area which is deteriorating...

Once completed, the project will continue to be an important place for young people to visit, learn history and become an important tourist destination of Long An province in the area bordering Ho Chi Minh City.
