Cam My district is among the top localities with large durian areas in Dong Nai province with 2,375 hectares. In particular, the district has formed large-scale specialized durian production areas associated with a chain from production to consumption.
The entire district has expanded more than 144 hectares of durian to meet VietGAP standards. This is also the leading locality in the province to build an organic durian production area.

This is a favorable condition for the locality to attract enterprises to invest and build a chain linking from production to consumption. Up to now, the whole district has built 8 production chains linked to durian consumption.
The Xuan Que Commune Durian Cooperative Group's chain currently has 62 production households with a scale of more than 88 hectares with a total output of nearly 1,100 tons/year. Of which, the 3.3-hectare durian garden of the Xuan Que Commune Durian Cooperative Group Leader, Tran Quang Hiep, was granted an organic certification in 2023.
Mr. Tran Quang Hiep shared: "From the reality of the organic durian production model with high productivity and quality, which is guaranteed by enterprises, the members of the Xuan Que Commune Durian Cooperative are gradually converting to organic farming with the orientation of building specialized areas that meet organic standards for export to major markets".
The district has established 3 cooperatives to produce and purchase durian; there are 11 establishments and cooperatives registered to do business in the field of durian purchasing and 15 cooperatives currently producing and trading this product.

Mr. Truong A Vung, Director of Toan Thang Import-Export Trading Company Limited in Xuan Tay Commune, said: "The company chose to invest in a frozen durian factory in Cam My District because the locality has large areas of durian raw materials; there are long-standing durian growing communities and have formed clubs, cooperatives, and cooperatives that link production to ensure delicious and safe fruit."
According to Vice Chairman of Cam My District People's Committee Le Van Tuong, durian is identified as the district's key agricultural product, mainly two specialty varieties Ri6 and Dona, both of which sell for high prices on the market.
However, by 2030, the locality will not develop more areas for this crop but will focus on improving product quality; forming new chains linking production and safe consumption of durian. The district will also focus on promoting digital transformation, investing in building databases, and putting into use official software for managing growing areas and packaging facilities.
According to the report of Cam My District People's Committee, up to now, there are 13 durian growing areas in the district that have been granted growing area codes with a total area of over 461 hectares of 309 households. In addition, there are 3 files being checked to submit applications for growing area codes with an area of nearly 159 hectares.
