On February 19, 2025, the City People's Committee issued Decision No. 484/QD-UBND approving the integrated component of the proposed economic development cooperation linkage between Da Nang and the provinces of the South Central Coast, Central Highlands and East-West Economic Corridor 2. In which, the city builds a linkage orientation on transport infrastructure with all 5 modes of transport.
Accordingly, regarding roads, synchronous investment in the construction of the structure, direction, and Da Nang - Thanh My - Ngoc Hoi - Bo Y expressway connecting with Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway; at the same time, completing the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway; National Highway 14B section through Da Nang reaching the scale of a 6-lane urban main road; National Highway 14G section through Da Nang reaching the minimum scale of a level IV road, 2 lanes... Along with that, completing the connecting infrastructure of the East - West Economic Corridor 2 connecting with Laos, Thailand and Myanmar to Da Nang via National Highways 14B, 14D, connecting the Nam Giang international border gate, Quang Nam with Da Nang. In particular, building a public transport route (urban railway or other equivalent means) connecting Da Nang city with Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) and Lang Co town (Hue city).
Regarding railways, build a high-speed railway and a national regular railway along the corridor, running parallel to the expressway to the east; plan the Da Nang - Kon Tum railway to connect with the North - South national railway at the new Da Nang Station after 2030. Regarding aviation, upgrade and expand the civil aviation area and aircraft parking lot to increase capacity to about 25 million passengers/year and become a specialized aviation logistics center. By 2050, continue to expand the civil aviation area and aircraft parking lot to increase capacity to 30 million passengers/year with diverse functional zones and high-quality services.
According to the proposal of the City People's Committee, regarding seaports, Da Nang port will be built and developed, simultaneously performing all three functions of import and export of goods - transit of goods - logistics to assume the role of an international gateway in the Central region (type IA) in the long term, linking Chan May port, Da Nang port with Chu Lai port into a port cluster to build a large commercial port, on par with Saigon port and Hai Phong port.
Coordinate to review, adjust planning and decide on key logistics infrastructure investment projects in the region. At the same time, renovate and form the Tien Sa seaport commercial complex in the direction of a tourist port after 2030; when Lien Chieu cargo port is formed and put into operation, Tien Sa port will officially become a tourist port, a sea tourism gateway of the entire Central Coast region to the world.
Regarding inland waterways, the city also aims to develop sea passenger transport routes to serve people's travel needs combined with tourism development such as: Ha Long - Da Nang route; Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City; Hue - Thuan An - Tien Sa port - Song Han port route; Da Nang - Ly Son island route; Da Nang - Cu Lao Cham route (Quang Nam); Da Nang - Con Co island route (Quang Tri) and international sea passenger transport routes directly from countries: USA, Canada, Australia, India, Europe, Asia to Da Nang seaport. In addition, the Han River - Vinh Dien River route will be converted into a local route when it meets the criteria according to the national inland waterway planning orientation...

According to the Danang Bridge and Road Science and Technology Association, in order to develop linkages, localities in the region need to soon build and complete synchronous infrastructure to develop the Danang - Quang Nam - Quang Ngai - Nam Giang Border Gate - Dak Ta Oc - Laos - Thailand corridor through National Highways 14B, 14E, 14D, and the Danang - Quang Ngai Expressway. Research and build the Bo Y - Quang Nam - Danang economic corridor; connect the Northern Central Highlands provinces with the Central Central region and seaports, promote socio-economic development in the Central Highlands and Central Central regions.
MSc. Vo Van Toan, Director of Ky Viet Construction Investment and Technical Consulting Joint Stock Company, said that the proposed connection of Da Nang city is completely reasonable and scientific when taking advantage of the end point of the East-West and East-West Economic Corridors 2, connecting the Pacific and Indian Ocean regions to develop an integrated logistics service chain for Da Nang.
In particular, taking aviation logistics services and seaport logistics services as development priorities in the multimodal logistics service system to promote the inherent advantages of Da Nang. In addition, developing regional, local and specialized logistics centers; ensuring the provision of logistics services that meet the domestic production and import-export needs of Da Nang city and the Central - Central Highlands region; being able to provide a number of competitive logistics services for international transit cargo flows on the East - West and East - West 2 economic corridors entering and leaving seaports in Da Nang city... will open up opportunities for developing regional linkages between the Central - Central Highlands and the South Central Coast, in which Da Nang plays a central role.
“There are many ports in the region (Chan May, Tien Sa, Ky Ha, Dung Quat, Quy Nhon), which is very favorable for the development of the marine economy. Connecting and linking seaports to take advantage of each other's infrastructure, forming a port cluster or large commercial port is necessary, bringing high efficiency in many aspects,” Mr. Toan analyzed.
