Working with Son La province, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, emphasized the need to build a peaceful, stable, and cooperative border area; not allowing hostile forces to take advantage of and incite division in Vietnam-Laos relations.

On the morning of October 22, in Moc Chau district (Son La province), General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, worked with the Standing Committee of Son La Provincial Party Committee.
In recent times, Son La Provincial Party Committee has directed and prioritized resources to focus on building the province into a center for high-tech agricultural development in the Northwest region, an agricultural processing center, a center for milk, fruits, medicinal plants and a tourism center in the Northwest region.
The province also actively implemented key traffic projects in the province; focused on preventing, responding to and overcoming the consequences of floods.
Speaking at the meeting, General Phan Van Giang highly appreciated Son La province for overcoming difficulties and striving to achieve many achievements.
General Phan Van Giang suggested that the Son La Provincial Party Committee must pay special attention to the work of building and rectifying the Party and a clean and strong political system; uphold the leadership principle, build high solidarity and unity within the Party, and maintain the people's trust in the Party and the government.
The province needs to promote the achieved results; focus on remote, isolated areas, areas important to national defense, newly arranged and adjusted areas in the province. Along with that, continue to effectively implement Resolution No. 11 of the Politburo on the direction of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the midland and mountainous areas of the North until 2030, with a vision to 2045; focus on implementing the planning of Son La province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050...
The Minister of National Defense noted that Son La province should continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement resolutions and conclusions on military and defense strategies; improve the quality of education and training in defense and security knowledge for all subjects; and effectively carry out State management of defense at all levels.
It is necessary to attach importance to strengthening the national defense potential associated with a solid people's security posture; to take care of building a comprehensively strong provincial armed force, highly combat-ready, capable of promptly and effectively responding to situations, and not being passive or surprised. Son La province needs to closely combine socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security, creating a stable and favorable environment for development.
In foreign affairs, especially with Laos, General Phan Van Giang emphasized the need to build a peaceful, stable, and cooperative border area; not allowing hostile forces to take advantage of and incite division in Vietnam-Laos relations.
Also at the meeting, the Minister of National Defense answered the proposals and recommendations of the Son La Provincial Party Committee related to military and defense work.
