On the morning of May 25, at the Provincial People's Committee, a meeting of the Steering Committee for building a dossier on the art of Cheo in the Red River Delta to submit to UNESCO for inclusion in the list of representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity took place.

Comrades: Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee; Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee co-chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were the Vice Chairmen of the People's Committees of Vinh Phuc and Thai Binh provinces and members of the Steering Committee.

Currently, the art of Cheo in Thai Binh province has been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Implementing the conclusion of the Prime Minister, Thai Binh province presided over and coordinated with relevant localities to prepare a dossier to request UNESCO to include the art of Cheo in the Red River Delta in the list of representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, proposed that immediately after the meeting, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province send a document to the provinces and cities with Cheo art heritage to confirm their participation in the dossier building. After receiving opinions from the provinces and cities, Thai Binh province sent a document to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to notify about the participation of localities. Localities participating in the construction of the Cheo art dossier need to have closer coordination with the consulting unit, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Binh to inventory, supervise, and build a comprehensive dossier, ensuring the progress in the proposed time.

The Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes that the national dossier on the art of Cheo in the Red River Delta will soon be completed, which will be the basis for submitting it to UNESCO for inclusion in the list of representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee emphasized: As the unit in charge of preparing the national dossier on Cheo art in the Red River Delta, Thai Binh province has seriously grasped and implemented the assigned tasks in accordance with the direction of the Government, the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as well as the UNESCO organization. He sincerely thanked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the provinces and cities in the Red River Delta region and the consulting unit for their coordination, guidance and support for the province and the Steering Committee to complete many important contents.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, he requested that the provinces and cities continue to actively coordinate closely with Thai Binh province in completing the dossier. Regarding the time, he requested that the consulting unit complete the dossier to submit to UNESCO in 2024. He assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to actively coordinate with the consulting unit to study and clarify the issues of impact, influence on time, legal procedures, funding, and adjustment of the dossier's name... in case the scope of the dossier is expanded to provinces outside the Red River Delta. In case of necessary changes, it is necessary to consult the Provincial People's Committee and the Steering Committee to report to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for comments.

He hoped that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism would continue to pay attention and support the construction of a dossier on the art of Cheo in the Red River Delta to submit to UNESCO for inclusion in the list of representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
