The workshop aims to collect opinions from delegates who are former leaders and officers of the Vietnam Coast Guard, and experts to complete and improve the quality of the project, serving evaluation, acceptance, and publication.

After more than 2 years of implementation, the draft (7th time) of the Project has a complete structure, expected to be accepted in June 2025. The draft content focuses on highlighting the process of leadership, direction and comprehensive organization of all aspects of Party work and political work of the Vietnam Coast Guard in performing the tasks of preventing and fighting natural disasters, epidemics, rescue, and environmental protection in the period of 1998-2020.

On that basis, clarify the successes, limitations, and causes; especially highlight 6 achievements and 7 lessons learned in conducting Party and political activities on the tasks of preventing and fighting natural disasters, epidemics, rescue, and environmental protection in the period of 1998-2020.

At the workshop, delegates focused on contributing ideas to the draft of the Project, pointing out the limitations that need to be overcome and supplementing documents to further improve the quality of the Project before reporting to the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Coast Guard to establish a scientific council, organize evaluation and acceptance.

Concluding the workshop, Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai emphasized that all comments agreed with the draft and highly appreciated the research results.

The project is urgent, has great significance in both theory and practice, researches the right subjects, clearly defines the scope of the research, meets the nature and requirements of a project summarizing the history of Party work, political work of the Vietnam Coast Guard in performing the tasks of preventing and fighting natural disasters, epidemics, rescue, and environmental protection. The scope of the research is determined from 1998 to 2020 in accordance with the directive of the Central Military Commission Standing Committee.

The content of the project has ensured the correct leadership of the Party, the Central Military Commission, and the State's laws on the implementation of tasks of natural disaster prevention, control, epidemic prevention, rescue, and environmental protection; closely following the functions and tasks of the Vietnam Coast Guard in performing the tasks of law enforcement and protecting national security, order and safety at sea.

When completed, the Project will make an important contribution to educating traditions, imparting experiences, improving knowledge and capacity in organizing and conducting Party and political activities for Party committees, political commissars, political cadres, and commanders at all levels in performing assigned duties and tasks, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation; at the same time, it will also be valuable documents and materials serving scientific research, teaching, propaganda, and education for officers and soldiers in the Coast Guard force.
