As a revolutionary newspaper in the South, born in 1946 - right from the early days of the resistance war against French colonialism, Tay Ninh Newspaper has gradually grown, closely associated with the revolutionary movement in the South in general and the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee in particular.

Proud of 78 years of tradition

In a long series of almost continuous publications, the newspapers were successively named Dan Quyen Newspaper - during the anti-French resistance, Giai Phong Newspaper - during the anti-American resistance, and then Tay Ninh Newspaper since the complete liberation of the South on April 30, 1975 until now. In 78 years, the provincial Party Committee newspaper has had 4 generations of journalists corresponding to 4 periods: the resistance war against the French, the resistance war against the Americans, the period of protecting and building the country and the current period of innovation and development.

Mr. Pham Hung Thai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Tay Ninh province said that after 78 years of growth through the practical experience of two revolutionary struggles against French colonialism and American imperialism and during the period of complete independence and unification of the country, Tay Ninh Newspaper has grown strongly, gradually modernized and become professional, meeting the requirements of the political tasks of the country and the locality; especially in the process of integration and strong development of science and technology.

Journalist Nguyen Tan Hung, former Chief of the Editorial Office of Tay Ninh Newspaper, said: "I have worked at Tay Ninh Newspaper since I was a young man in my twenties until my retirement, and I still regularly collaborate with the Newspaper. My first feeling when I came to the Newspaper was surprise, surprise and excitement, "I did not expect that my province also had a professional newspaper published periodically".

I must say that until now, at the age of U70, I still have that initial feeling. On October 5, 2024, Tay Ninh Newspaper will be 78 years old. I am very proud that my hometown has a newspaper that has been published almost continuously for quite a long time without ever straying from its original principles and purposes.

In particular, I am even more proud that throughout the history of the Newspaper, no one in the generations of journalists has been involved in any scandal related to negativity or corruption. I think that being in that clean and healthy team from my youth until my retirement is truly an honor in my life.

Of course, this is also a common honor for generations of journalists in the province. Therefore, I always hope that the current and future journalism team will maintain the good things that have become traditions!"

Mr. Nguyen Tan Hung told his young colleagues: “In my opinion, the biggest challenge today is that journalists in the new era must overcome and keep up with the very high demands of the new era to be able to do a good job of orienting public opinion. Because public opinion is currently being dominated by the stormy advances of the fourth industrial revolution, also known as the "4.0 era".
