Mr. Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - said that according to the resolution recently approved by the Provincial People's Council, the project to build Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital to become the final hospital of the South Central Coast region will be invested and implemented in the period of 2025 - 2030.

The construction and upgrading of Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital to become the final hospital of the whole region is carried out in accordance with the resolutions on the construction and development of Khanh Hoa province issued by the Politburo and the Government.

Currently, Khanh Hoa General Hospital has a scale of 1,250 beds, but its service capacity has always exceeded 110 - 123% for many years.

On March 4, the Ministry of Health issued a document requesting the province to build Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital to assume the function of a regional hospital and ensure it is upgraded and developed into a specialized or high-tech specialized hospital (according to the provisions of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment and related decrees of the Government).

On March 19, the provincial Department of Health decided to classify the technical expertise of Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital as specialized.

The project will be built over 5 years, with a total investment of 4,450 billion VND.

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, the project will be implemented on a 11.22ha land area under the planning of the Urban Area - Park - New Administrative Center of Khanh Hoa Province (in Vinh Thai Commune, Nha Trang City). The new hospital has a scale of 1,500 beds, with a maximum height of 12 floors.

According to Mr. Dinh Van Thieu, the Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital project is being implemented in a new area, so it is very convenient for construction.

Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee has proposed to invest synchronously in the same phase, not dividing the investment into 2 phases like other normal projects (when the construction is completed, then the investment in purchasing and installing equipment is implemented).
