From 3 p.m. on May 2, the price of RON95-III gasoline increased by VND40/liter and fuel oil increased by VND255/kg. However, E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND8/liter; diesel oil decreased by VND110/liter and kerosene decreased by VND142/liter.

According to the joint decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, the prices of two domestic gasoline products will be adjusted in opposite directions from 3:00 p.m. today (May 2).
Specifically, RON95-III gasoline increased by 40 VND/liter, the new price is 24,955 VND/liter and fuel oil increased by 255 VND/kg to 17,633 VND/kg. However, in this adjustment period, E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 8 VND/liter, down to 23,911 VND/liter; diesel oil decreased by 110 VND, down to 20,606 VND/liter and kerosene decreased by 142 VND, down to 20,544 VND/liter.
Regarding the price stabilization fund (BOG), the joint ministries decided not to set aside and not to spend money from the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products.
A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,077 billion VND, unchanged from the announcement period last week.
In the most recent adjustment (April 25), E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 307 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by 322 VND/liter; diesel oil decreased by 730 VND/liter and kerosene decreased by 730 VND. However, during this adjustment period, fuel oil increased by 202 VND/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the period of petroleum price management will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, implemented every Thursday.
In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday coincides with the remaining holidays, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday./.
