Notably, the tournament was held in the advanced table with the participation of international Grandmasters, male and female International Masters... The surprise happened when the 12th seed Pham Cong Minh of Ninh Binh Club won the championship with 6.5 points after 8 matches.
With the same score of 6.5 points, player Tran Vo Quoc Bao (Royal Chess Club) ranked second due to losing the secondary score. Tied for third place were two quite famous players, Bang Gia Huy (Future Grandmaster Club) with 6.5 points and Nguyen Huynh Minh Thien (Hanoi) with 6 points.
The 2024 Hanoi Open Rapid Chess Tournament ended on the evening of November 10.
Two other notable faces in this category are International Grandmaster Tran Tuan Minh (Hanoi) ranked only 7th, Dau Khuong Duy (Vietchess) ranked 8th with the same 5.5 points.
