Thuong Bang La Commune is located in the Southeast of Van Chan District (Yen Bai Province) and is blessed with a fresh, cool climate and many beautiful landscapes. This land is mainly inhabited by the Tay ethnic group with many unique cultural identities, such as the Dam Thuong melody, the sweet and captivating Then songs. Along with that, the Tay ethnic group in Thuong Bang La also has many unique traditional rituals with deep spiritual meaning and community connection value, preserved through many generations such as the Cau Mua festival with unique xoe melodies.

This is also a heroic land that marks many victories in the heroic resistance war against the French of the nation with places that have become legendary and poetic such as "Lung Lo Pass, the brothers and sisters sing". Efforts to complete new rural criteria have not been achieved.
Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, Thuong Bang La commune was selected as a pilot commune for new rural construction in Van Chan district. Determining that new rural construction is one of the important tasks in implementing the Resolution of the 7th Conference of the 10th Party Central Committee on "Agriculture, farmers, rural areas", in the process of implementing new rural construction, the commune government always focuses on thoroughly implementing the principle of "People know, people discuss, people do, people check and people benefit".

In 2016, Thuong Bang La commune was recognized as a commune meeting new rural standards, the second commune to complete the new rural construction program of Van Chan district.
Promoting the achieved results, Thuong Bang La commune continues to embark on the construction of an advanced new rural commune, while continuing to maintain, consolidate and improve the achieved new rural criteria, striving to build Thuong Bang La commune to be increasingly rich, beautiful, democratic, civilized, and the people to have a prosperous and happy life.

Nong Truong village is one of the villages with many positive results in the new rural construction movement in Thuong Bang La commune. Thanks to the new rural construction program, the economic life of people in the area has changed significantly.
Mr. Hoang Xuan Thuy - Secretary of the Party Cell of Nong Truong Village (Thuong Bang La Commune) said that Nong Truong Village currently has 203 households with 815 people, and a natural area of 160 hectares. Since receiving the plan to implement the construction of advanced new rural areas in the area, the Party Cell of the village has held a meeting of the Party Cell Executive Committee, then a meeting of the expanded Village Front Working Committee to implement and then hold a meeting with the people.
"After implementation, most people realized the meaning and benefits of the program, so they were very excited and agreed to support it. Although there were some difficulties during the implementation process, thanks to the people's determination and efforts, up to now, the village's advanced new rural criteria have basically been completed," Mr. Thuy shared.

According to the Secretary of the Party Cell of Nong Truong village, with the criteria of rural roads, some sections of village roads are still being implemented. This year, with the attention of the commune, there is a policy of supporting cement to build 500m of village roads, the locality is in the process of implementation, striving to complete by the end of October.
Regarding environmental criteria, the locality also pays attention to implementing them, mobilizing people to buy trash cans to classify waste, and building incinerators to ensure environmental hygiene. Regarding flower and ornamental tree roads, the village has so far built one road, and the Party Committee will continue to meet with the Women's Union to build two more flower roads.

Talking to Dan Viet reporter , Mr. Hoang Xuan Duong - Chairman of Thuong Bang La Commune People's Committee emphasized that, besides the local advantages, in the process of building new rural areas, Thuong Bang La commune also encountered certain difficulties.
Continue to build advanced new rural areas, some local criteria are still being implemented. According to the assessment and review of the Commune Steering Committee, the commune has achieved 12/19 advanced new rural criteria, of which some criteria have not been achieved, the locality continues to mobilize people to participate in implementation.
In the coming time, under the direction of the Steering Committee for New Rural Areas of Van Chan district, the locality will continue to complete the unmet criteria in the fourth quarter of 2024. However, regarding infrastructure, there are some unmet criteria such as rural roads, so the locality is still striving.
Currently, rural concrete roads to villages are still being urgently implemented, reaching over 60% at this point. Compared to the New Rural Criteria for the period 2011 - 2020, the new Criteria for 2021 - 2025 has some criteria that the locality has not yet met. Therefore, to meet the new criteria according to the National Criteria for 2021 - 2025, the locality needs to make every effort in the coming time.
