Established on the basis of merging Hiep Hoa and Hiep Thuan communes, Que Tan commune has an area of 91.28 km2 with a population of 4,420 people. Que Tan commune Party Committee has 11 subordinate Party cells with 178 Party members. After its establishment, the locality quickly organized a People's Council meeting to elect the leadership positions of the People's Council and People's Committee of the commune.
Mr. Luong Phuoc Nghia - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Que Tan commune said that, based on the resolution of the Party Committee and the People's Council of Que Tan commune, the People's Committee of the commune has concretized and implemented synchronous tasks in all fields. Decisions and regulations on the operation of the Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee have been promptly issued. The People's Committee of the commune has developed a work program for the whole year and for each month and quarter of the year.
After nearly 2 months of operation, the new organizational structure of Que Tan commune has effectively implemented political, economic and social tasks. Notably, it has well performed tasks before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025.
Right after Tet, Que Tan commune successfully organized many cultural, artistic and sports activities; typically the first Que Tan commune women's volleyball tournament in 2025 attracted 5 teams from 5 villages with 60 athletes participating. Before that, the commune successfully organized a traditional boat racing tournament in Binh Kieu village.
Witnessing the spring sports activities, Ms. Phuc in Que Tan commune shared: "The increase in the number of villages after the establishment of Que Tan commune has created conditions for organizing larger and more attractive sports competitions by attracting more football teams, athletes and spectators to participate."
Regarding the organization of Que Tan commune, Mr. Luong Phuoc Nghia said that according to the project, the district People's Committee has 37 cadres and civil servants, of which 24 are part-time workers. The number of surplus cadres and civil servants after the merger has been calculated and arranged appropriately by the district. By 2029, the total number of cadres and civil servants in Que Tan commune will be 21 according to the regulations of a type 2 commune.
The commune has 12 people registered for early retirement and quit their jobs according to Decree 178 of the Government (10 people registered for early retirement and 2 people quit their jobs).
“Civil servants have a clear mindset and focus on performing their tasks well. The digital transformation work has been implemented to help the apparatus operate smoothly and effectively. The commune has assigned and arranged staff to support the settlement of administrative procedures for the people. In the immediate future, the commune will resolutely direct the issuance of ID cards to citizens. Related documents that need to be adjusted and changed for the people will be done after the citizens have Que Tan commune ID cards,” said Mr. Luong Phuoc Nghia - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Que Tan commune.
