Clearly identifying this, in recent times, Ngoc Trao Commune (Thach Thanh) has focused on many solutions to increase income and improve people's lives. And when life improves, people will have the conditions to contribute resources to New Rural Development.
With economic development, people of Ngoc Trao commune (Thach Thanh) have the conditions to contribute resources to build many new rural infrastructure projects.
In previous years, the infrastructure of Ngoc Trao commune was both lacking and weak, people lived mainly on forestry and rice cultivation, so for a long time, the lives of Ngoc Trao people encountered many difficulties, the poverty rate was always high. Faced with that reality, the Party Committee and the commune government focused on directing land re-planning, land accumulation to encourage the development of large-scale agricultural and forestry production. Along with that, focusing on exploiting the potential and strengths of the locality, encouraging people to boldly change the structure of crops and livestock, bringing new seedlings, varieties and livestock of economic value into production. At the same time, capital sources were mobilized to invest in technical infrastructure works to serve production in the direction of goods, forming value chains in agricultural production.
The economic model of Mr. Mai Van Dung's family in Ngoc Long village is one of the typical households in economic development and contribution to the New Rural Development Program. From an inefficient garden and hilly land, Mr. Dung has now built an effective economic model with an income of hundreds of millions of VND. Accordingly, his family has invested in developing production towards commodities of fruit trees such as oranges, grapefruits, guavas, longans, etc. His farm has become a model in the region for many people to visit, learn and apply. With economic development, Mr. Dung's family has had the opportunity to contribute labor, money, and donate land to join hands with the government in implementing the New Rural Development Program. Accordingly, he has donated more than 500 square meters of land and tens of millions of VND to build rural roads.
Along with the development of agricultural production, in the fields of industry, trade and services, Ngoc Trao commune pays attention to market management, preventing smuggling of counterfeit and poor quality goods, ensuring consumer rights; promoting propaganda and dissemination of legal regulations in trade and service activities to business households in the area. Currently, the whole commune has nearly 100 households working in the service industry and small-scale industry, creating jobs for hundreds of local workers. In addition, the commune also creates conditions to help households in need access to preferential loans from the Bank for Social Policies and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. At the same time, it coordinates with relevant sectors to organize training courses and provide guidance on agricultural production to help people develop economic models and increase income. Thanks to the synchronous implementation of many solutions, the socio-economic situation of Ngoc Trao commune has improved a lot. In 2023, the commune's agricultural production value will reach over 80 million VND/ha/year. Average income per capita will reach 54 million VND/year. Promoting economic development has made an important contribution to completing sustainable NTM criteria. Infrastructure has been gradually renovated and upgraded, and people's material and spiritual life has gradually improved. Currently, Ngoc Trao commune has basically completed 19/19 NTM criteria.
Mr. Quach Van Thuy, Vice Chairman of Ngoc Trao Commune People's Committee, said: Increasing people's income is always the top priority, related to many other factors in the whole process of building new rural areas. Therefore, in the coming time, Ngoc Trao commune will continue to synchronously deploy solutions for even development in all fields; replicate and develop economic models for high economic efficiency, expand the scale of buffalo and cow herds. Along with that, create conditions for households in need to promptly access preferential credit programs to expand production and business. Increase investment, upgrade and develop traffic infrastructure in a synchronous and modern direction. At the same time, promote the development of service industries, trade, small-scale industry, services, create jobs and increase income for local people.
