WWF Vietnam - Thua Thien Hue cooperate in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development

On October 18, at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, a signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement between the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province and the World Wildlife Fund in Vietnam (WWF Vietnam) took place in implementing programs and projects related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

At the ceremony, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province and WWF discussed a number of cooperation contents in the past time and cooperation orientations in the coming time. On this occasion, Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong and General Director of WWF - Vietnam signed a Cooperation Agreement between Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee and the World Wildlife Fund in Vietnam (WWF - Vietnam).

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong said that the Cooperation Agreement is an important basis for the two sides to build a cooperation framework for the period 2025-2030, thereby mobilizing more resources and providing long-term support for Thua Thien Hue province in implementing programs and projects related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

“The signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement marks a new phase of cooperation between the two sides, especially in the field of biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in Thua Thien Hue province,” the head of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee emphasized.

It is known that in Thua Thien Hue province, WWF and WWF Vietnam Office have implemented many diverse projects, contributing to supporting the improvement of sustainable management capacity of natural resources; raising awareness and livelihoods of local communities to minimize the risk of illegal exploitation of forest resources and hunting of wildlife, gradually determining the value of biodiversity from forests and conserving them in a sustainable manner...

Through WWF, international organizations connected in the nature conservation network of Thua Thien Hue province have contributed to supporting forest management, protection, nature conservation, adaptation to climate change, as well as supporting and promoting the image of people and nature of Thua Thien Hue to international friends.
