Theater websites keep having problems

As VietNamNet reported, the appeal of Vietnamese films in recent days has caused the ticket booking websites of many distributors to be overloaded.

For many days, when accessing the website of the National Cinema Center, moviegoers received a message saying: "Currently, the number of customers accessing the website is too large, the website is temporarily inaccessible."

After many days of overload, the National Cinema Center's website returned to normal operation on the morning of February 23.

It was not until this morning (February 23) that access to the National Cinema Center’s website returned to normal. However, to reduce pressure on the system, the National Cinema Center posted a notice that tickets for the movie “Dao, Pho and Piano” would only be sold at the counter and not available for online ticket purchase.

Not only the National Cinema Center, on February 20 and 21, after receiving information that Beta Cinemas would screen “Peach, Pho and Piano”, many viewers accessing Beta Cinemas’ website received a notice that the website was under maintenance.

Beta Cinemas website is under maintenance as soon as it announces the screening of “Peach, Pho and Piano”.

By the afternoon of February 22, on the fanpage of another theater system, Cinestar, announced that it would only sell tickets directly at the theater for the movie “Dao, Pho and Piano” despite previously announcing that it would sell both online and direct tickets. The reason given by this unit was to limit the overload of the website system.

Even at Cinestar's theaters, the printing system also had problems due to overload. The theater staff and managers then had to replace them with handwritten tickets to serve customers in time. According to this unit, this was a real incident and was absolutely not a PR move for the film from Cinestar.

Website overload is not a cybersecurity incident

In response to reporters' questions, a representative of the Information Security Department (Ministry of Information and Communications) said that in recent days, this unit has not received any requests for support from the National Cinema Center or other film distribution units.

The overload of the National Cinema Center website is simply a technical issue and not related to an information security incident ,” said a representative of the Information Security Department.

Talking to VietNamNet , security expert Ngo Minh Hieu also confirmed and said that the problem with the cinema system's website was simply due to too many people accessing it at the same time. This is not an unusual incident regarding network security.

On social networks, there are currently some conspiracy theories circulating about publishers intentionally "crashing" websites to create an effect to increase viewer appeal.

According to an anonymous security expert, in theory, website owners can “crash” their own websites to create a false state of paralysis. For example, they can limit bandwidth, not releasing connection resources.

However, in the case of the National Cinema Center, this expert said that website overload is a completely normal thing.

The website of the National Cinema Center is not a place that can handle a lot of traffic because the number of people coming here to watch blockbuster movies is not large. In this case, “Dao, Pho and Pianowas initially a movie that was released almost exclusively. With a large number of people pouring in, the possibility of the website being congested is understandable,” the expert commented.

"Peach, Pho and Piano" is a film written and directed by Meritorious Artist Phi Tien Son. The film is set in the context of the heroic 60-day and night battle of the army and people of the Capital at the end of 1946, opening the nation's resistance war against the French.

The story of the main characters in the film reflects the elegance and grace of Hanoians, while also conveying a message of patriotism, thereby creating many emotions for viewers. That is also the reason why the film "Dao, Pho and Piano" has become a phenomenon on social media platforms.

Beware of scams when buying movie tickets 'Peach, Pho and Piano' online According to the National Cinema Center, there are cases of audiences being scammed when buying movie tickets "Peach, Pho and Piano" from groups on social networks.
