Understanding the new development trends of green agriculture , Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company (Supe Lam Thao) has actively innovated and developed in line with the times, always accompanying the development of Vietnamese agriculture and farmers. Over the years, Supe Lam Thao has continuously introduced new fertilizer products to the market, such as organic mineral fertilizers and microbial-supplemented fertilizers, serving the development of green, clean, and sustainable agriculture. Notably, the company recently researched and invested in building an experimental garden to create a model of clean agriculture and a green space within its own premises.

The "Experimental Garden" project, initiated by Supe Lam Thao in November 2023, covers a total area of ​​over 5,000 m2 with an investment value of nearly 6.3 billion VND. In February 2024, Phase 1 was completed and put into operation, including: site preparation; construction of a regulating lake; construction of walkways, resting areas, and landscaping around the lake; and construction and implementation of experimental models in a high-end greenhouse covering 557 m2, featuring high-tech agricultural production models for large-scale cultivation and urban agriculture (the entire greenhouse is designed according to EVS-EN 13031-1:2002 – the European Greenhouse Association's standard for greenhouse structure design). The greenhouse is fully equipped with insect screens and various systems: thermal insulation film wrapping, cooling, convection fan system, shade netting, substrate cultivation, aeroponic cultivation, hydroponic cultivation, semi-hydroponic cultivation, urban planting, and automatic control (agricultural environmental climate monitoring system, automatic irrigation and fertilization system...). All crops grown here follow a clean agricultural production process, using Lam Thao fertilizers that are balanced, scientific , and suitable for the growth and development conditions of each crop.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc An, Deputy General Director of the company: The experimental garden is a demonstration site showcasing the effectiveness of Lam Thao fertilizers on various crops and is an impressive tourist destination for partners and customers in cultivating clean agricultural products.

Secrets to plant growth and high yields

These days, visiting the experimental garden of Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company, we can witness the joyful atmosphere of harvesting fresh vegetables by agricultural engineers and youth union members of the company to provide a source of clean, fresh vegetables for mid-shift meals for all employees and workers of the company.

While harvesting vegetables, Mr. Tran Xuan Thanh, Secretary of the Company's Youth Union, said: "From the very beginning when the experimental garden was put into operation, the Company's Youth Union has actively coordinated with the Company's agricultural engineers to carry out youth projects and tasks related to creating a green, clean, and beautiful ecological environment here. The Company's Youth Union mobilized a large number of youth union members from various units within the Company to participate from the preparation of the soil and seedlings to the entire process of caring for and harvesting the vegetables. In addition, the Youth Union also participated in planting and caring for the lemon garden and the cosmos flower garden. To date, the cosmos flower garden is entering its blooming season, emitting a fragrant aroma, attracting many company officials, employees, partners, and customers to visit; the lemon garden is also ready for harvest and provides lemonade for workers during hot days."

As one of the dedicated engineers at the Experimental Garden, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Quynh shared: With a vegetable growing area of ​​about 1,000m2, she, along with the company's agricultural engineers and in coordination with the company's Youth Union, developed a plan to grow sweet cabbage and mustard greens using Lam Thao fertilizers in a closed-loop process from planting to harvesting, combined with an automatic irrigation system installed around the garden. After about two months of planting, although the weather sometimes had many days of rain, significantly affecting soil erosion, with timely and appropriate care and Lam Thao fertilizer application, the vegetable garden always grew well, was not damaged by pests and diseases, and yielded high productivity. In addition, in the greenhouse, agricultural engineers also experimented with growing many types of cabbage, all of which grew well and yielded high productivity.

Sharing her secrets to growing and caring for a high-yield and efficient vegetable garden, Ms. Quynh said: "All stages of planting, caring for, and fertilizing must be carried out according to proper technical procedures. In particular, using Lam Thao fertilizer must follow the 'four correct' principles: the right type, the right dosage, the right time, and the right method. This will help the vegetable and fruit garden grow healthily, yield high productivity, reduce pest and disease damage, and contribute to soil improvement."
