Previously, on January 30, HXN was taken to the Provincial General Hospital by his family in critical condition. Through examination, it was determined that N. had septic shock, pericarditis, and pleurisy due to staphylococcus aureus with complications of multiple organ failure. This is a severe infectious disease with damage to multiple organs and a very high risk of death.
Deputy Head of the Department of Intensive Care and Anti-Poisoning at the Provincial General Hospital, Doctor Le Phuoc Duc, said that in this case, the unit applied continuous blood filtration and plasma exchange techniques for the patient. After 65 days of treatment with 10 days of blood filtration and plasma exchange, and more than 1 month of mechanical ventilation, the patient's organ functions were completely restored.
In particular, during the treatment period at the hospital, patient HXN was an ethnic minority, with extremely difficult family circumstances, and during the long-term treatment, the family could not afford the expenses. Therefore, to support N., the medical team of the Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department, in addition to professional work and active treatment, we called for and mobilized support resources from within the department as well as the community with an amount of about 10 million VND to help the patient's family.
