Attack in Moscow: No information on casualties related to Vietnamese people yet

A representative of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia said there is currently no information about casualties related to Vietnamese people in the attack in Moscow.

After the attack at Crocus City Hall in the Crocus City shopping and performing arts center on the MKAD ring road between Moscow and Moscow region, which left 93 people dead and at least 145 injured (as of the afternoon of March 23 - Vietnam time), a VNA reporter in Moscow had an interview with Counselor Vu Son Viet, Head of the Consular Department, Deputy Head of the Community Affairs Department of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, who directly participated in the work of protecting Vietnamese citizens. Counselor Vu Son Viet said that there was currently no information about casualties related to Vietnamese people in this attack. Immediately after receiving the news, the Embassy immediately deployed citizen protection work, sent people to the scene and from the night until 5:00 a.m. on March 23, rescued 12 Vietnamese people and brought them home safely. In addition, Embassy staff also went to the gathering place to provide first aid to see if there were any Vietnamese people left, and so far there is no information about any Vietnamese victims.
According to Counselor Vu Son Viet, before each information about insecurity or terrorism, the Embassy sends warnings to the community through the Association of Vietnamese in Russia, through prestigious associations, groups, and community networks as well as media channels of Vietnamese people in Russia. The content recommends that people limit travel by public transport, limit going to crowded places such as wharves, bus stations, subway stations, theaters, wholesale markets, and always raise their vigilance, follow local newspapers and radio, and comply with the instructions of local authorities in emergency situations. In addition, the Embassy also calls on people when an emergency situation occurs or there is information about such situations, to immediately contact the Citizen Protection Department - Consular Office of the Embassy of Vietnam in Russia - via the 24/7 hotline.
