Phong Chau Bridge Collapse: No Victims Found in Tractor Trailer Submerged in River

Searchers found a tractor trailer under the Red River in the Phong Chau Bridge collapse (Phu Tho). However, during the diving search, police did not find any victims inside the cabin.
On the afternoon of September 15, Phu Tho Provincial Police announced that they had just mobilized 30 more officers and soldiers from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to join the search for victims of the Phong Chau Bridge collapse (Tam Nong District, Phu Tho). According to Phu Tho Provincial Police, the 30 soldiers were equipped with specialized diving equipment to approach the scene and coordinate with other forces to urgently search for victims.

Also on the morning of September 15, search forces approached the scene about 100 meters from the collapsed Phong Chau bridge, in Zone 23 (Van Xuan commune, Tam Nong district). Here, the authorities discovered a tractor-trailer truck with license plate 19R-011.11 stuck. During the diving search, the authorities did not find any victims in the cabin of the vehicle. Phu Tho Provincial Police said that this agency is mobilizing maximum forces, vehicles, and equipment to deploy a plan to search for missing victims and salvage the damaged vehicle with the highest sense of urgency and determination, to soon ease some of the pain for the families of the victims of the bridge collapse.

Previously, yesterday afternoon, September 14, authorities found the body of Ms. NTH (48 years old) in the Red River area, passing through Vinh Lai commune (Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province).
On September 9, Ms. H. and her husband, Mr. LXT (53 years old), went to see a doctor from Lam Thao district to return home. When they reached Phong Chau bridge, due to the impact of heavy rain and floods, the bridge suddenly collapsed, causing both of them to fall into the Red River and go missing. To date, Ms. H.'s body has been found. Mr. T. is still confirmed missing. On September 9, 2 spans of Phong Chau bridge collapsed. The incident caused 3 cars, 6 motorbikes, and 1 electric car to fall into the river; 3 people were rescued, 8 people are missing. Phu Tho Provincial Police have issued a notice to search for the victims' identities. On September 14, after the water level of the Red River receded, authorities organized a search for the missing victims and calculated a plan to salvage the fallen bridge girder.
