On the morning of September 15, the Youth Union - Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City College of Industry and Trade (HITU) officially informed about the case of incorrect transfer of donations to support people affected by storm and flood No. 3 (storm Yagi) reported by Dan Tri newspaper through the article Clarifying the case of a club "embezzling" 90% of the donations to people in flood-affected areas.
According to the unit, the Reserve Officers Club of the Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City College of Industry and Trade was dissolved in January 2024 after a period of ineffective operation.
At the time of dissolution, the remaining fund of the Club was 11,232,000 VND and the Club's Board of Directors agreed to hand it over to HT alumni (a member of the Board of Directors, who had graduated) for safekeeping.
When storm No. 3 hit our country, causing human and property damage in some northern provinces, the members of the Club's Executive Board proposed transferring all of the above fund to the Vietnam Fatherland Front account to support our compatriots.

On September 9, former student HT transferred 1,123,000 VND instead of the full amount of 11,232,000 VND to account 0011001932418 of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Then, HT asked a friend to edit the image to 11,232,000 VND to post to the Club's reporting group.
A representative of the Youth Union - Student Association of the school said that on September 14, after Dan Tri newspaper published an article reflecting on the matter, former student HT realized his wrongdoing and transferred the entire remaining amount to account number 0011001932418 of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Hope society forgives mistakes
On the same afternoon, representatives of the Board of Directors, the Standing Committee of the Youth Union and the Student Association of the school invited members of the Executive Committee of the Association's Cadres and HT alumni to clarify the information.
At the meeting, HT admitted his mistakes, due to his immature thinking, affecting the members of the Club's Board of Directors, teachers and students of the school.
"The above violation was committed by former student HT alone, not related to other members of the Club. At the same time, former student HT apologizes to the Vietnam Fatherland Front, teachers of Ho Chi Minh City College of Industry and Trade and members of the Club's Board of Directors for his mistake. HT asks everyone to forgive him, so he can change himself," the school representative informed.
Through the above incident, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union - Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City College of Industry and Trade would like to thank Dan Tri newspaper and the mass media for timely information, helping the unit grasp and handle the incident.
At the same time, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union - Student Association of the school also apologized to the people who suffered losses in storm No. 3; the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the Party Committee, the Board of Directors and all teachers and students of the school for letting the above unfortunate incident happen.
"The Executive Committee of the Youth Union - Student Association of the school hopes that the online community will forgive the mistakes of former student HT to help him stay calm and continue to coordinate with the Executive Committee of the Youth Union - Student Association of the school to work with higher management agencies when requested," said the President of the Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City College of Industry and Trade.
On the club's Facebook, the representative of the Executive Board also apologized to all members, former club directors and units related to this incident.
Previously, Dan Tri reported that on the Facebook page of the Reserve Fund Officers Club, Ho Chi Minh City College of Industry and Trade posted an announcement that it had transferred 11,232,000 VND from its reserve fund to support people in the North who suffered heavy losses caused by storm No. 3 Yagi.
The notice said that the above amount was transferred to the Vietnam Fatherland Front account via account number 0011001932418, Vietcombank. Attached is a screenshot of the transfer transaction.

However, after the Vietnam Fatherland Front announced the statement, the amount looked up was 1,123,200 VND, lower than the announced amount of 10,108,800 VND.
