The mountainous district of Vu Quang ( Ha Tinh province ) is focusing intensely on completing and upgrading the criteria for new rural development in the area.

These days, the atmosphere of building new rural areas in Tho Dien commune is very urgent and bustling because the locality is on the verge of "reaching the finish line" to become an advanced new rural commune by the end of this year.
With a clear objective in mind, Tho Dien commune has mobilized the strength of the entire political system to complete the criteria. Since the beginning of the year, the locality has mobilized more than 2,000 man-days to renovate, repair, and expand over 1 km of roads; refurbish two village cultural houses; clear 350 overgrown gardens; and is completing the ecological residential cluster in Hoa Thi village... The locality has basically achieved 20 out of 20 criteria for an advanced new rural commune.
Not only Tho Dien commune but also the remaining 9 localities of Vu Quang district are focusing their efforts and determined to improve the criteria for New Rural Development, working together to help the district achieve advanced New Rural Development standards by 2025.
Residents of Hamlet 6 (Quang Tho Commune) are participating in a campaign to renovate the hamlet's cultural center.
Reportedly, from the beginning of 2023 until now, Vu Quang has mobilized more than 20 billion VND, nearly 20,000 man-days of labor, and encouraged people to donate more than 4,500 square meters of land to complete and upgrade the criteria for New Rural Development in the area.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) visited several new rural areas in Vu Quang district.
Thanks to these resources, since the beginning of the year, the locality has upgraded more than 5 km of roadbeds and shoulders; renovated more than 4,000 household gardens; relocated nearly 130 sanitation facilities; built 476 wastewater settling ponds and many other important projects and tasks.
According to Nguyen Thi Luong, Deputy Head of the New Rural Development Office of Vu Quang district: “The resources mobilized not only help the locality consolidate and upgrade the criteria at the commune level to aim for achieving model new rural areas and advanced new rural areas standards, but also help the district achieve the goal of becoming a new rural district as planned. From now until the end of the year, the locality will continue to take advantage of all resources, and at the same time, flexibly mobilize the combined strength of the people to participate in completing the projects and tasks that have been outlined.”
