(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Mr. Vo Huu Tran, Principal of Trung Hieu Secondary School, despite knowing that an 8th-grade male student was being beaten by a group of students, concealed the incident and only handled it internally. He has been recommended for disciplinary action in the form of a warning.
Regarding the incident where an 8th-grade male student was assaulted by classmates using chairs and helmets, on November 11th, the Department of Education and Training of Vung Liem district (Vinh Long province) announced that its disciplinary council had held a meeting and proposed a warning for Mr. Vo Huu Tran, Principal of Trung Hieu Secondary School, for intentionally concealing the student fight and failing to report it to his superiors.

Mr. Tran not only concealed the student fight on September 23rd but also deliberately attempted to "resolve internally" the student fight that occurred during the 2023-2024 school year, causing public outrage.
Consequently, the Disciplinary Council of the District Department of Education and Training unanimously recommended that the competent authority discipline Mr. Tran with a warning. At the same time, they recommended that the competent authority continue to take action against other officials involved in the incident.
Specifically, Mr. Huynh Hoang Hai, the homeroom teacher, did not manage the class strictly enough; students repeatedly fought in class but he did not detect it, and he did not have solutions to manage and prevent student fights.
The head teacher, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thanh, failed to fulfill her responsibilities in managing and caring for the student who was assaulted by a group of classmates. When parents sent a video of the student being beaten collectively to Ms. Thanh, she only forwarded it to the principal, without discussing the student's injuries with the family or coordinating with them to take the student for first aid.
Previously, as Dan Tri newspaper reported, in late September, a more than 3-minute-long clip circulated on social media, showing a group of 8th-grade students ganging up on a classmate, beating him with helmets, brooms, chairs, and repeatedly kicking him in the head.
The entire incident was witnessed by many students, who cheered, and another student recorded it on their phone.
Upon verification, the incident occurred at noon on September 23rd, in class 8/1, Trung Hieu Secondary School. The victim is NHN. The cause of the assault was a personal conflict.
Ms. NTTM (N.'s grandmother) said that after the incident, the family took the boy to the hospital for examination and treatment. The boy suffered soft tissue injuries to his head, swelling in both hands, a severed left hand, and back pain.
