Authorities have contacted a pilot in the plane crash in Binh Dinh and are approaching the location to rescue him.
Speaking to VietNamNet on the evening of November 6, Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that authorities had contacted a pilot in the Yak-130 plane accident in Tay Son district.
Accordingly, the person who was contacted was Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, Flight Commander of Air Force Regiment 940. In addition to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, the authorities also had preliminary information to determine the location of Colonel Nguyen Van Son, Commander of Air Force Regiment 940.
"According to information received at the scene, one pilot contacted to determine the coordinates, and another pilot also had preliminary information," said the Chairman of Binh Dinh province.
According to information from the Propaganda Department, at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Nguyen Hong Quan contacted the unit by mobile phone to report that he was on the top of a high mountain (specific location unknown), the phone signal was unstable so there was not much information, the pilot's health was normal. Currently, the functional forces are trying to approach the location of Lieutenant Colonel Quan and continue to divide into different directions to find Colonel Nguyen Van Son.
As reported by VietNamNet, on November 6, Air Force Regiment 940, Air Force Officer School, Air Defense - Air Force organized a daily training flight at Phu Cat airport, with Yak-130 aircraft (registration number 210D).
The plane flew exercise 208, long-distance flight - no-go zone - through clouds in complex meteorological conditions, with Colonel Nguyen Van Son, Regiment Commander, flying in the front cabin and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, Flight Director, flying in the back cabin.
The plane took off at 9:55 a.m. and landed at 10:38 a.m. The pilot reported that the plane's landing gear could not be released. He also took emergency measures to handle the situation but was still unsuccessful.
The pilot reported to the flight commander and was allowed to parachute. The two pilots parachuted at 10:51 a.m. at the TB2 Shooting Range, Tay Son, Binh Dinh.
