Regarding the incident where the principal grabbed the microphone and pointed fingers to prevent the head of the parents' association from speaking about irregularities in the purchase of cabinets at the closing ceremony at Quy Dat Kindergarten No. 1 (Minh Hoa, Quang Binh), Tuoi Tre Online discovered that after the cabinets for the classes were completed, the principal invited representatives of the parents' association to sign the contract, liquidation minutes, and handover minutes.

The head of the parents' association filed a complaint against the principal for violating procedures in purchasing cabinets.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, president of the school's parents' association, sent a petition to the Department of Education and Training as well as the People's Committee of Minh Hoa district to denounce the principal for violating this procedure.

According to Ms. Lien, the purchase of cabinets for the classes was agreed upon by the parents' association at the beginning of the year. However, the parents' association only objected because the price the principal initially offered was too high compared to reality.

Then, at the meeting between the school board, the executive board of the parents' association and the homeroom teachers on October 20, 2023, Ms. Dinh Thi Bui Chung - the principal - proposed a new price of 4 million VND per cabinet. The parents' association found this price reasonable and agreed to pay.

At this meeting, Ms. Lien suggested that the parents' association should be responsible for making the cabinets, and the school would supervise. But the principal said to let the school do it.

Ms. Lien also added that before the school does anything, it must have a contract first.

"However, for some unknown reason, the principal went to order the locker himself and then put it into use after November 20 without informing or consulting the parents' association executive committee," said Ms. Lien.

According to Ms. Lien, on December 15, Ms. Chung invited the executive board of the parents' association to a meeting. At this meeting, Ms. Chung presented the cabinet making contract, the handover minutes, the liquidation minutes and asked the parents' association to sign.

Realizing the irregularities in the cabinet making, Ms. Lien did not sign these documents.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , at the year-end ceremony of Quy Dat Town Kindergarten No. 1 (Minh Hoa, Quang Binh), the school's parents' association president was invited to the stage to speak.

During her speech, she asked for permission from all parents to clarify the matter related to the school asking for social funds from the parents' association fund to buy 22 lockers to store students' belongings in classrooms, each locker costing 6 million VND. Many parents disagreed with this because the price was too high.

The school's vice principal said that the president of the parents' association was invited to speak and had the right to speak. But Ms. Chung snatched the microphone from the vice principal. Ms. Chung then went up on stage, pointed at the president of the parents' association and prevented her from continuing to speak.

These events took place right in front of dozens of parents and students.
