This morning (August 21), the People's Committee of Thai Binh province informed that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has decided to extend the temporary suspension of Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Binh, from August 21, to serve the inspection of the organization of the entrance exam for grade 10 high school in the 2024-2025 school year. The extension period is 15 working days.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien is responsible for strictly implementing this decision; providing full relevant information and documents and complying with the requests of the head of the inspection team and competent authorities during the inspection period as prescribed.

As VietNamNet reported, when the results of the 10th grade entrance exam in Thai Binh province were announced, many parents, teachers, and candidates were surprised because the scores did not accurately reflect the test results.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province has requested the Provincial Inspectorate to conduct a surprise inspection of the implementation of policies, laws, tasks and powers assigned to the Department of Education and Training, the Director of the Department of Education and Training and related organizations and individuals in the organization of the recent 10th grade exam.

The People's Committee of Thai Binh province has issued a decision to temporarily suspend the Director of the Department of Education and Training, Nguyen Viet Hien, from July 31 to serve the inspection of the organization of the 10th grade entrance exam. The suspension period is 15 days.

On the morning of August 20, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province held a press conference to provide information on the inspection results. Accordingly, 2,997 exams were out of sync, causing 2,750 exams to have incorrect scores; 49 exams had errors in the scoring and entry process, of which 19 exams had incorrect scores compared to the published score sheet. The total number of essay exams with incorrect scores was 2,769; of which 1,368 exams had higher scores and 1,401 exams had lower scores than the published scores.

This resulted in 252 candidates going from failing to passing, of which 15 candidates passed the specialized schools. On the contrary, 243 candidates at the general high school examination councils went from passing to failing and 15 candidates from the specialized examination councils will be removed from the list of candidates admitted to specialized schools.
