In addition, Nho Quan District People's Committee also assigned Phuc Son Commune People's Committee to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and relevant agencies and units to regularly inspect and supervise this work.

Previously, on December 17, 2024, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ninh Binh province decided to establish an inspection team to inspect the compliance with environmental protection laws at Elmaco Export Cassava Starch Factory. Up to now, the authorities have not yet had any results in handling this enterprise.

While waiting for the results of the inspection and handling from the authorities of Ninh Binh province, dozens of households in Phuc Son commune still set up tents day and night to guard against pollution. This situation has been going on for more than a month. Recently, when discovering a truck carrying raw materials to the factory, the people blocked the front of the truck to prevent it from entering.

Although the government has organized propaganda, people said they are still waiting for the final conclusion of the inspection team and Ninh Binh province before stopping the protest tents.

Mr. Quach Thanh Hai, a local resident, said that the people resolutely opposed and did not agree with the continued operation of the cassava factory in the area.

"Violation must be strictly handled, requiring the factory to be closed so that people's lives can be stable, and they no longer have to worry about their health, especially the next generation," said Mr. Hai.
