The 17-year-old girl who was beaten by a group of people talked to reporters about the incident.

Due to a previous conflict, the two sides had an argument at the coffee shop. When Ms. L. and her friend left the shop, H. called someone to chase them and blocked the road at the Set River bank (in Hoang Mai district, Hanoi). There, H. loudly invited L. to fight but she refused.

“H.’s group rode about 10 motorbikes and blocked our way. Right after I refused to fight with H., he jumped in and beat me. My friend tried to stop them but was stopped by the group of people accompanying H.,” the 17-year-old girl said.

Because the road was crowded, H.'s group quickly left. However, before they could go far, H.'s group continued to block the road, forcing L. and her friend to move to the lake area - a deserted place with no houses and few people passing by.

Here, H. continued to call other people. Afterwards, Ms. L. was beaten by many people in H.'s group. The victim's friends tried to intervene but were stopped.

“Among the people who beat me, there was someone younger than me but I didn’t know him at all. I only knew the boy wearing glasses (the one who beat me), but he had dropped out of school. He was called later and also joined in the beating,” said Ms. L.

The 17-year-old girl said that after beating her, the group asked her to kneel down and apologize to each person who beat her. “I was so panicked that I had to listen to what H.’s group said. I had to apologize to strangers, even people I didn’t know,” the girl recounted.

Talking about the conflicts with H, the 17-year-old girl added: “Before, we knew each other and played together, without any conflicts. When the boy that H. liked expressed on social media that he liked me, he got angry.

I also explained to H. that there was nothing between me and the other guy, but H. still found an excuse to fight with me. We had a conflict so we stopped playing together.” Ms. L. shared that many days after the incident, she still felt dizzy and in pain.

According to Ms. TTTT (born in 1983, residing in Yen So ward, Hoang Mai district), the mother of the 17-year-old girl, when she saw that her daughter had not returned home late, she called. "When I called, she made up this and that excuse. But then she texted me to come to the hospital with her.

Hearing that, I was also very worried so I asked again and my son said, "My ear is torn and it hurts a lot, please come to the hospital with me. When I got to the hospital, I saw my son's hair was messy, his face was scratched, and there was blood on his face. When I asked, he said he was beaten by his friends," said Mrs. T.

After taking her daughter to the hospital for a check-up, Ms. T. filed a police report about the incident. “Instead of stopping them, the more than 40 people present cheered and supported them, then recorded a video and sent it to many people.

Not stopping there, they also posted it on social media to show off. I couldn’t watch the video for more than 10 seconds because these people beat my daughter so brutally,” Ms. T. was indignant.

The mother of the 17-year-old girl added that her daughter is still mentally panicked and scared. Her body and face still have many scratches and bruises after being beaten by H.'s group.

Faced with this incident, she hopes that the authorities will intervene and strictly handle those who assaulted her child.

On February 19, a leader of Hoang Mai District Police said that the unit had summoned 3 related subjects to the headquarters for questioning. At the same time, the unit was completing legal procedures to take the victim for a disability assessment as a basis for investigation and handling of the case.
