Vu Chinh talks about the controversial ending of "Mac Vu Van Gian"

The Chinese TV series "Mo Yu Yun Jian" opened its preview package on the Youku platform and ended at episode 40 on the evening of June 22. Through an additional 5-minute extra episode, it can be seen that the couple Xue Fang Fei (Wu Jin Yan) - Xiao Hong (Wang Jing Yue) had a happy ending.

When Tieu Hoanh returned victorious from the battle, the couple lived happily after 8 years of marriage and had a beautiful daughter.

However, the ending of episode 40 is still controversial. Many opinions say that if there were no side story, this could be understood as an open ending. Tieu Hoang went to war and it is unclear whether he could survive or not, while Tiet Phuong Phi is still waiting for her husband to return.

On the other hand, in the final scene of the film, when Xue Fangfei was waiting under the blooming lilac tree as promised, the sound of horse hooves appeared. On the horse was a man wearing the jade pendant that Xue Fangfei gave to her husband before going to battle.

But this scene doesn't show a close-up of the face, and has a blurry effect, so it's unclear whether Tieu Hoanh is returning or not.

In addition, Tiet Phuong Phi chose to wear a red outfit. This scene is similar to when Tieu Hoang's mother passed away, implying that she couldn't wait for the day her husband returned.

The unclear ending led many to believe that, in fact, this was a sad ending, and producer Vu Chinh decided to film an additional side story to give the film a happy ending as most of the audience wished.

In the face of controversy, Vu Chinh affirmed that the ending of the film from beginning to end is always happy. Many people may think that Tieu Hoang, surrounded by enemies, would have a hard time surviving. But Vu Chinh personally believes that life has thousands of different possibilities.

Vu Chinh explained that the sound of horse hooves was also the moment Tieu Hoang returned, Tiet Phuong Phi turned her head to look back, the two reunited. But he didn't like filming the ending scene of the four looking at each other with tears in their eyes and saying nothing, so he did it more artistically.
