Currently, in the area where the two ships were in distress, there are 11 vessels participating in the search and rescue, including 7 fishing boats and 4 ships of the Ministry of National Defense. The weather in the area has level 3 and level 4 waves.

Search and rescue forces continue to expand the search area to find the missing fishermen. At the same time, the Forward Command Center is in constant contact with forces on the scene to monitor the situation.
Colonel Tran Tien Hien requested the People's Committee of Quang Nam province to recommend the National Committee for Incident Response, Natural Disasters and Search and Rescue to direct the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 to request Coast Guard Ship 8002 to receive 78 fishermen and 2 bodies of 2 wrecked ships for health care and body preservation. After the search and rescue is completed, they will be transported to the wharf of Coast Guard Region 2 in Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Truong Ba Long, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, the CSB 8002 ship can ensure good reception, accommodation, and medical care to ensure the health of fishermen. The ship has specialized equipment to meet the requirements for preserving bodies. This ship arrived at the scene at 10:45 p.m. on October 17, approached the ship carrying the victims, provided medical care, and encouraged and visited the fishermen. When there is an order to transfer people onto the ship and bring the bodies ashore, the Coast Guard will carry out the order.
