Vovinam "opens" with gold medals, many athletics and swimming events reach the finals

In recent days, Vovinam athletes have competed quite successfully, continuously bringing home many medals for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation. And this morning, the athletes of this martial art continued to compete impressively, winning the first gold medal of the day.

In the final of the multi-weapon event, the four martial artists Lam Thi Thuy My, Le Toan Trung, Doan Hoang Tham and Lam Tri Linh performed very well to overcome strong opponents such as Myanmar and host Cambodia to win the gold medal. In addition, the two martial artists Lam Thi Loi and Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai also won a silver medal in the women's dual sword event.

Up to now, Vovinam has won 5 gold medals at the 32nd SEA Games. Previously, this martial art won 4 gold medals thanks to teammates Nguyen Thi Hoai Nuong and Nguyen Hoang Du (women's self-defense category), Bui Thi Thao Ngan (women's 65 kg category), Le Thi Hien (women's 54 kg category), Do Phuong Thao (women's 60 kg category) and Nguyen Thanh Liem (men's 60 kg category).

In swimming, Vietnam has 2 representatives passing the qualifying round this morning. Specifically, in the qualifying round of the men's 200m freestyle, Nguyen Huy Hoang achieved a time of 1 minute 51 seconds 94, ranking 3rd, thereby qualifying for the final. Also in this event, Ngo Dinh Chuyen achieved a time of 1 minute 52 seconds 50 and will also compete in the final.

In the qualifying round of the men's 400m event, both Vietnamese representatives reached the final. Athlete Tran Nhat Hoang finished second in the first heat with a time of 47.68 seconds, while athlete Tran Dinh Son finished fourth in the second heat with a time of 47.43 seconds.

This afternoon, in addition to Nhat Hoang and Dinh Son competing in the men's 400m final, other strong Vietnamese athletes will also compete, promising to bring home gold medals. Among them, Nguyen Thi Oanh will compete in the 1,500m event at 5:30 p.m. and immediately after that, the 3,000m obstacle course event at 5:50 p.m. Other events are the men's long jump of Nguyen Tien Trong and Pham Van Nghia; the women's high jump of Pham Thi Diem and Nguyen Thanh Vy; the women's 400m of Nguyen Thi Huyen and Nguyen Thi Hang; and the men's 5,000m of Le Van Thao and Do Quoc Luat.
