U20 Asian Qualifiers: Vietnam wins 5-0 over Bhutan

NDO - In the opening match of the U20 Asian qualifiers on the evening of September 23, the U20 Vietnam team had a convincing performance when defeating U20 Bhutan with an overwhelming score of 5-0.

This match marked a strong start for coach Hua Hien Vinh and his team , although the starting lineup was not the strongest. Key players such as Long Vu, Cong Phuong and Tran Gia Bao were given a break in the first half, but U20 Vietnam still completely controlled the game from the very first minutes. After only 8 minutes of play, U20 Vietnam opened the score thanks to a powerful shot by Bao Long. The player currently playing for PVF-Cong An Nhan Dan not only scored but also showed excellent form on the left wing, helping Vietnam gain an early advantage. However, after the opening goal, U20 Vietnam did not create many dangerous opportunities. The home team had difficulty maintaining cohesion between the lines, especially in attack, where the coordination was not really smooth and was easily predicted by Bhutan. In the second half, coach Hua Hien Vinh decided to change personnel by sending Cong Phuong onto the field to replace Hoang Khanh, who did not leave much of an impression in the first half. The appearance of Cong Phuong immediately brought about a clear change in Vietnam U20's playing style. The team began to operate more smoothly, the attacks became much sharper and more effective. In the 52nd minute, the duo Cong Phuong and Dang Duong, both players of The Cong Viettel, had a good coordination to help Dang Duong score, raising the score to 2-0. Not stopping there, just 4 minutes later, Cong Phuong made his mark again when he made an accurate assist for Huu Tuan to head the ball into the net, raising the score to 4-0.

Before the match ended, Cong Phuong once again proved his class. In a face-off with the opposing goalkeeper, he kept his composure and finished accurately, sealing a 5-0 victory for U20 Vietnam. This was not only a big win but also a display of technique and control of the match by Cong Phuong, who created a turning point for the team after coming off the bench.
